I was walking through London Soho and saw the police doing an arrest on tje infamous 'clippers' around there. In Soho there are 'walk ups' that have working girls there. I've never done anything in Soho or visited them but I've heard they are legal. On the streets around them tho are guys and girls I think known as 'clippers'. These folk generaly target tourists and ask them if they want to see a girl. Aparemtly they then take you to the stairs of the walk up, get the money from you, then run off with it. If you go past ssoho even just a few timea you can spot them, they look dodgy and some appear at first to look aa if they are selling drugs.
Tonight tho, I saw the police gathering them all up and arresting them. I don't visit any girls in London but thought any locals may like to know this as I imagine they may be a nuisance to those that do. Also a warning for any tourists about avoiding this scam if they re-appear.

You got wires slightly crossed. Walk ups are the equivalent to RLD windows and you can tell these by the hand-written luminous signs with 'Model blah blah blah X floor'. However you have to knock door before you see the lady or her maid. Clip joints are fronted by provocatively dressed ladies and are set up to look like strip joints. Once inside you are 'asked' to buy a drink for the lady sent to you and this is the scam. So long as their tariff is displayed in the club, you are liable. They can be written in red with red bulbs or that so you don't see it. When you make to leave you can then be stung for a few hundred quid and this is where stories of tourists being escorted to cash points come from. I think Paris has similar. Anyhow with the Olympics there has been efforts to clean up this and the various other scams - eg street betting games - up.

Glad to hear the police are trying to round them up so visitors to this island can enjoy themselves properly. And so they should. Soho could be so much better ffs. It's location would be excellent for some Eros centres, or some window rlds. The walk ups can have a few nice surprises with very good service to be had if you're lucky. However, I have experienced upselling. Ten pound extra to take the bra off. Also the maids ask you to wait if the girl is busy. I didnt really enjoy waiting so I left quite abruptly. The location and number of these walk ups seems to change all the time. It's hard to keep track. The prostitution laws in this country are completely backward and nonsensical. The truth is, London is full of prostitution but finding it much be far easier for a local. There are postcards in phone booths, internet sites, the walk ups , massage parlours too but the one that interests me the most is private adverts in local papers. Now, if any local Londoners came name some of these papers, I'd be grateful. The standard doesn't seem to have these ads.
Anyone interested in a peep show in Soho then I have visited tisbury court peep shoe many times. Look for the one where you can see the cubicle. £2 a viewing. I can also recommend strip pubs in the Shoreditch and hackney road area. There are also other good strip pubs around too. Clerkenwell road, etc. Not much better than sport on the Tele, a pint and naked women dancing around.

I know London very well and before moving to Holland, used to visit walk-ups in Soho. Very hit and miss, but it is possible to find some gems and the prices are relatively good. My favourite was a girl from Birmingham called Anna who worked just by the Leicester Square tube stop. I was a regular customer until she got married to some Spanish dude and moved to NYC. I was gutted to see her go. I once fell for the clip joint scam - a very scary incident!. For some stupid reason I got persuaded to pay an entrance fee by a pretty girl and descended into a dark basement room, with a central dance floor area surrounded by tables and chairs, some occupied by men with scantily clad club girls. I was expecting to see a strip show, but this is how they trick you to enter. Soon after being seated, a girl came and sat next to me and started to make conversation. Before long, a waiter appeared asking if I would like to buy a drink and one for the girl. I asked about the price and did not really get an answer. At this stage, I saw two huge bouncers approach another table with a couple of men, and soon some shouting started about a bar bill that needed to be paid. I decided to get up and leave, but the girl and the waiter tried to stop me. I pulled away and legged it up the stairs, although the girl mananged to give me a deep scratch in my arm with her long nails. The only reason that I got away was because the house thugs were otherwise engaged. Soon after I was back up on the streets, another bouncer type came bounding up the stairs after me. Luckily for me, there were policemen walking by and he thought better of coming after me. A lucky escape. When in London, keep well away from these seedy joints.

Yeh, keep away from clip joints and go to Spearmint Rhino or whatever if pole/lap dancing is your bag.
I think the Adultwork website is where most advertise these days.

My apologies for the wrong terminology. I was meaning the folk standing on the street who ask if you want to see girls then take the money and run off

Loius. Near enough had the same experience. Sounds like we were both in he same place and ran from the same place too. This happened to me years ago, I was very young. Was approached outside by a biggish lady who has been around the area for ages. I like older bbws so I foolishly went with her. Went in to that basement place you describe and apparently a strip show would be taking place with loads of girls. They all came out and said hello and it was 20 pounds for this, and 20 pounds for that. Then they said they were off to get ready to strip for me. A girl sat next to me and started asking if she could have £20. I said no, she started whingeing. This is when my instincts kicked in and I legged it up those stairs like a gazelle, or cheetah. More like a nervous gazelle. Came out to the facade of the place. Walked calmly past the man at the counter (he wouldn't of done much, but I'm sure his friends would, wherever they were) and back on to the street. All in all, I'd be scammed out of £270 but now know more would of been lost if the story had continued. I still see this woman, and she still asks people if they want to come and see 'the girls'. Last time she approached me was about three , or four years ago. I said no thanks. The black lady with her looked like she was gunna attack me for saying no, the larger white lady said, no, leave him, he's ok. WTF and who the fuk are these horrible people. My advice is to be careful in Soho. Do your research , avoid chatting to the wrong people, avoid staring at certain people too. Know where your going. There are a couple of strip establishments in Soho that are good. The names escape me. Be careful. One thing I can vouch for, which no other city does as well , are the strips pubs scattered throughout the city. Excellent. And at least there are walk ups if ever in need. Not the best but some gems to be had for sure.

What I don't understand is how the local authorities can let these clubs run scams backed up by violence year after year.
