We visited the RLD in October 2011 and when we got there work was going to what seemed like repair to the canals and it took the edge off our visit
We were wondering if this work has finnished as we are thinking of returning in June this year and would like to see the beauty of the area without major construction work going on
Any info would be greatly appreciated

Im sure i saw a sign saying they finish in march 2013. To me it makes OZA feel like a building site (which obviously it is :) ) It would be interesting to know exactly what they're doing though.

Sure I read that they are doing canal work to reinforce the lining of the canals ie. to stop the pavements falling in.

It's still a mess in the RLD. Still working to (hopefully) make it a better place. That's going to take some time, so be prepared to walk in messy place in the RLD.... again.
