Haha, no wonder you were worried.. those signs scare the shit out of me too! I always think a favourite has gone for good, or the owners are struggling to fill their rooms (always bad for our morale!).. but yes, it's just her regular July holiday. Always the beginning of July for 2 weeks. And when she comes back she's tanned and 3kg heavier... her nice ass gets even nicer with some extra meat :)

Yes. Now the street is covered with those damnable steel plates which, at this moment, have been rain slickened and reduced to a coefficient of friction of 0.004 (as measured by the sole of my shoe skating across the surface)

I haven't been over there today but it looks like they're just repaving. They do this from time to time. Here's a pic I took about 3 years ago.

Amsterdam needs to go down the UK route, and lay tarmac down EVERYWHERE! Those little bricks look great, but they need adjusting/replacing way too often.

OK, so I lied on the coefficient of friction thing. They only look like those damnable steel plates (ask Smuler what terminal velocity he achieved on one of them). They actually appear to be large sheets of thick plastic.
