Just a few questions

Been doing my research and just wanted if anyone can fill in the blanks for me.

My first one is about the trams. What I'm asking is can I just jump on a tram and pay the driver or conductor at the back for a 24 hour ticket?. are there conductors at the back as last time I did not even look around was too busy looking at the window

Or is there a ticket machine at Amsterdam central like if I go under the stairs to the metro station. As last time I went to the gvb office and waited like 20 mins just to buy a ticket and paid extra booking fee.

My other question is about the lady's of Gordijnensteeg?

I know both the end windows are pre op shemales. I'm just wondering are the rest real girls as they look very dodgy to me and I don't want to end up with a post op ladyboy again thinking it's a pre op one then get let down and I don't wanna get slap asking if she is one

My last one is about the pancake and waffles cafe I forgot where I had some nice cheap ones in I know it was warmoesteeg or zeedijk it was very simple place I seem to can't remember where it is and would love to go back to.

Or if anyone knows a nice pancake and waffles place near the RLD.

Sorry about the silly questions and I got a good tip while looking at the ns.nl website you can buy your ticket online and print it off at home so very handy instead of waiting in line to use the ticket machine.

Cheers

From what I saw, there were trams with both front and back sits. The front sit was the driver's one and the back was for the ticket control itself.

There are real girls in Gordijnensteeg. I don't know if "real" is an appropriate term, I would say that there are TS and other girls working there. Never sessioned here, read mixed reports, but I think you could find a very decent girl with good services.

One of the most well-known pancake restaurant is out of main RLD, and it's located very close to the Jordaan.

It's Sara's Pancake, Raadhuistraat 45.

There's also Pancake Amsterdam, Berenstraat 38

conductors are only on the NEW trams, not the old style tram

Gordin, you really " take a chance " if its a girl or pre op, but night time seems more likely the majority are girls imho !!!

regards

so basicly they are pre op and post op are day time and real girls at night. i would feel sorry for a bloke who went there at night then go to the same spot and get a shock in the morning.

So I can just buy a ticket at the driver side?

Yes, on the trams without a conductor, you can buy a ticket from the driver. A 1 hour ticket (for eur2,70) or possibly a 24 hour ticket... I think they sell them, but for anything more (e.g. 3 day ticket), I think you would go to the GVB office across from centraal station (the place you waited 20 minutes... that place sucks). Even on the trams with a conductor, you'll still often see the driver selling tickets to tourists who boarded at the front door, which of course holds things up a bit.

If you buy an anonymous OV chipkaart at the aforementioned GVB office, it's good for a few years (mine is valid until 2017) and can be recharged in these little machines you'll find in shops (if you have a Dutch bank account), or they have machines in centraal station that take cash with a 20 euro note being the highest denomination you can insert. The ones in centraal station, interspersed between the NS ticket machines down this long hallway, might actually sell the cards too, but I'm not sure on that. They look different from the NS ticket machines... not sure how to describe them, a bit smaller and with a different setup. I think the card itself costs something like 5 euros (I can't remember) so initially you're paying more, but the trips are cheaper with the OV chipkaart. I'll ride the tram about 14 stops to get to the centre and that costs something like 1,50, whereas a one hour ticket runs you 2,70 and, realistically, is only going to be used for one trip. So I think in most cases, you're going to be paying about double when you buy the tickets each time rather than using a chipkaart. You can also recharge the chipkaart at the GVB place where you wait 20 minutes... they have a machine in there, or an agent will do it for you, 50 cent surcharge for them to do it.

I don't know about waffles but for pancakes, I've heard good things about the Pancake Bakery on the Prinsengracht. Never been there. There's also Eetcafe Bredero (next to Rock Planet on Oudezijds Voorburgwal, near intersection with Damstraat) which has pancakes... they're not bad. The "Wafel & Co" places around the RLD aren't so good... you'll see them take an already made waffle and put it back in the iron to warm it up a bit before serving it to you. The consistency is spongy and not what I'd expect from a proper waffle.

As for waffles, you can also try Metropolitan Chocolate in Warmoesstraat 135. I think it's the place where I drank a very good coffee once one year and half ago now. Homemade chocolate covered waffles.

I don't remember extacly if you can eat waffles at Latei, I haven't check their menu recently, but try ! Latei is only a few steps from Molensteeg, at Zeedijk 143.

Anyway they have delicious homemade fresh juices ( plus they have very original food to offer : indian vegetables food or ethiopian).
You can see the cookers preparing the meals in front of you. However, I can recommend the mezzanine upstairs, very nice to see from above the little kitchen in a laidback atmosphere.

Thank's very much BlutoBlutarsky and Carice Liefde.

Seem's I will buy a 72 hour's ticket as I want to go to a few restaurant just on the outskirts so I do enjoy walking but 30 mins walk wasting my time as it takes like 5 mins on the tram means I can rush back to the red light zone. Will try the jumping on the tram ( but I got a feeling I be waiting in line at the gvb office)

My quest for a Dutch breakfast and I do love a black coffee to start my day shame my hotel not got a kettle in the room.

Been doing my research got a list of 14 girls 8 are day shift 6 are night will keep me busy in De wallen. My only let down is this lady which sounded good in Haarlem is still on her holidays in Brazil so might take the chance as it's been 5 weeks she been away so far fingers cross she there or I find another one on a Monday.

I am sure there is a ticket machine in the gvb office , on the left hand side , where you can get a 3 day ticket .
