just in case there's any confusion, you can't buy weed at the hill street blues anymore. you can still smoke you're own in there (or buy from them at their sister shop across the street) but you'll be expected to buy drinks to stay in there.
unless of course you're talking about the hill street on the market, then by all means carry on :)

The Hill St Blues on warmoestraat is now Hill Street BOOZE, right? theres a Hill St Blues on Nieuwmarkt now thats a cafe. although, not sure if they do weed. is there a third weed place now?

Bird Thai Restaurant on Zeedijk. Yes, it's just called "Bird". They have the restaurant for dinner and the snackbar across the street for all hours and has the exact same food.
Many people's pick for best Thai food on the planet. I concur. It does get very busy at prime dinner hours.

Side trip to Alkmaar Rent a bike and take your life in your own hands! You will never do Amsterdam without once you try it. What a shame regarding Anyday!!!!! Might have been my favorite coffeeshop. Do you know where else in the city center I can find a verdamper? I rented a bike on my last two trips and it was amazing! I don't know what took me so long but it's well worth it and a cool way to experience the city. I like to ride but Alkmaar looks like it might be a little too far me....

Coitus - ha!
Anyway... I can second Cafe de Klos, they have huge amazing ribs unlike anything I've ever had before.
