Have read a few reports about requesting a room here i.e. a room on ground floor, first floor etc.
Is it best to request a room? What floor is best to request?
Haven't been to Amsterdam in 3 years and can't wait for this trip :)

Cheers
I have emailed a request for a ground floor room, don't fancy the stairs or standing waiting on a lift as I'm usually popping in and out of the room a lot.

seriously, get a room facing the Beurstraat [ the front ] at the back, it gets very very noisy up till 4-5 am !!
regards Agree with this, the normal room I get is at the back and can be very noisy. It is grnd floor and 'locals' hang about on the steps. Btw they have changed the numbering of the rooms. So if asking for 21 it will most likely be 11 now, though can't guarantee that.

Youngstarz wrote: Can you smoke cannabis in the Tulip In hotel rooms? Why would you want to shut yourself away in a hotel room to smoke a spliff?? That's what you have to do in the UK....sitting outside a coffee shop enjoying a smoke is half the enjoyment for me.....just couldn't do it here without looking over your shoulder all the time!!!

Why would you suggest I was ''shutting myself away'' in a Hotel room with a spliff? It is nice to relax in your hotel bed in Amsterdam, with a bedtime joint and smoke out the window, whilst enjoying the liveliness outside/view ect after you have gone about your day. plus, not always nice when you're seriously high and you're surrounded by a load of different people speaking a different language to you either!!!

I think you can get a beer later than 10pm,depending who is on reception regards
