Cafe Wau Malaysian food on Zeedijk.
One of my favorite meals in the whole world.

Thai Bird on Zeedijk
Good/sometimes great thai. Lots of memories for me.
The snackshop across the street has faster service, but the main restaraunt is more comfortable

The Bekeerde Suster. On the Wag, also a branch at the south end of Spuistraat.
Agree with Tony and Greenhoff.
Great beer and Dutch food. The pea soup is a meal that will last all day.

t'Zwanjte. Berenstraat in the Jourdan
Family Dutch pub with the best Mussels I have ever had.

Kantjil en d'Tiger
Touristy indonesian place on the south end of Spui.
Not quite as good as Temple Daloe, but you can get in, and the art deco decor is great.

Haartenkaas sandwich on Reestraat (Jourdan)
Parma ham, fresh baked bread.
At the bottom of the stairs from the apartment. I've gone in my pajamas!
WIsh I could remember the name of the Eetkafe off Rembrandtplein
My two favorite sandwich joints in Amsterdam

Cafe De Prins across the canal from Anne Franck
Great view, good beer on tap, and tasty if overpriced lunch

Wok to walk, Wok to go....is there a difference? I have only been to the one on Damstraat.
I've seen same coloured places......orange & black are they the same?

I guess it's something like McDonald's vs. McDowell's :-) They do have different menus though...

Incidentally, has anyone been to Toro Dorado ?
Wagyu beefsteak.........price is ridiculous, but is it worth it?
It's meant to be the best in the world ( wagyu, not toro )
I love a GOOD steak, but 5 times the price for the same size?

Anyone tried ?
