Hello fellow micers,

My next amsterdam trip is only a couple of weeks away and this time I'm thinking about checking out de pijp, after I visited singelgebied last time.

Since my last trip I'm a huge fan of the singel area.

I just wanted to ask you, what you guys think about the pijp In comparison to wallen and singel speaking of girls, prices and service.

Which rld do you prefer and why?

Thank you in advance.

Other than being pretty far from Central station I like it. There is a coffeeshop called something God over there that looks like a post apocalyptic mad max style church or something. No place to smoke but bar next door has a smoking lounge. I thought the shop was kinda neat looking. Good nugget too. Nice british owner tried in vain to explain the rules of rugby to me. I also like that area because if you are waiting on a certain girl you can go check out the market and get a delicious fruit smoothie.

Small but generally good service and value, IME. Katsu coffeeshop on Van Der Helststraat is nice, although the Budtender was a bit arsey last time I was there. Cafe Binnen Buiten (sp?) is a nice bar, very handy for waiting for pre/post beers.

Thank you guys,

That's sure some information I can use.

What kind of girls can I expect to find there?

Personally I prefer mature, big boobs and even bbw girls like they can be found in the singel area.

Well, I could just wait and find out myself but I thought I'd put a little life back into this board. Seemed to be a little sleepy in the past weeks.

De Pijp is magnificent!
Almost no tourists, a very local vibe. Reminds me of mongering 20 years ago.
First, there are no crowds. The girls are much more relaxed and chatty (like the SIngel).
Girls seem more interested in satisfied customers than turnover.
I don't ever remember a session less than 1/2 hour in De Pijp, and many have gone much longer.
Side trips to shop on Albert Cuyp Straat are a blast.
Katsu is one of my all-time favorite coffeeshops,
and Oude Zout, and the south end of the windows at the intersection of erst Jan Steeg, is my favorite bar in Amsterdam. The last bar that I know of where you can smoke anything, anytime.
Sammy is a long time favorite girl of mine, and will get a top three vote from me in this years poll.
Might reach #1 if I wasn't afraid of what Maxx might do in retaliation!
On the sunny side of the canal, short walk to museums of you are too stoned to monger.
Who could ask for more!

I visited the Pijp district with Bluto in October, I think it was the first time in about two years I'd been over there. It was a monday night and the women who where working where easily on a par with de wallen women. The bar on the corner just past the window is a good place to relax inside or outside at the tables and chairs. Cafe Jan Steen i think? Im looking forward to going over there next time.

I think we're talking about the same bar, Cafe jan steen? If I remember right, the lady at the bar said they don't allow weed smoking in there now. Bluto might be able to comfirm it, I had had quite a bit to drink by that time :)

Thanks for your opinions, guys.

De pijp sounds like an awesome place.
Like De wallen in quiet and with better service.

Looking forward to go there. You can be sure to read one or another report from me, although my english isn't that good. Hope you don't bother :)

I also think about going to the Hague, but I'm a little "scared" tbh.

Retro,

That's the place! I always knew it as the Jan Steen, but that is not the name on the menu anymore. The back room behind the bar has always been smoker friendy, and I have rolled up and smoked at the tables in the main bar many times. I hope that has not changed. Pool table in back by the men's room as well if I remember.
Really nice at the outside tables when the sun is out.
There use to be a coffeeshop just up the block, Kabuter, but it has changed owners, and now I understand that it is to be closed because it is too close to a school.

Visited Singel an Pijp last trip in december. Not many to choose from in De Pijp during a daytime walktrough. Same for Singel at the same afternoon. Back to the usual Wallen check and it was packed with girls. Maybe we just got unlucky.

The main RLD has certainly more young girls from EE.
Singel is more for locals, with mature women (including dutch ones) who have very regular clients. Ambiance is more laidback. Tourists are less in that area
De Pijp is also is place well known for locals. I don't think it's very far from Centraal Station when you think about it, it's 25-30 min walking distance.

I don't think the main RLD can beat the two other ones and especially Singel in terms of Spanish/South American mature women. And they offer services than young girls generally don't as well as much more time spending and not upselling of any kind. Those girls know how to treat young gentlemen : -)

The main RLD is fun to see on week-end nights for the massive crowds, its energy (anything can happen), but the two other ones are more inclined to give longer services and laidback atmosphere.

Thanks for the additional information on cafe Jan steen, a few laps of de pjip, a lay and a few beers at this place is definitely on the cards for the next trip. Don't know why I've never made the trip out this way before.
