Regarding recent events..Paris (RIP) and today Belgium,
Anyone got issues with travelling ?
Amsterdam is such a multi cultural city AS THEY ALL SHOULD BE!
Just wondering, should we be concerned, or carry on as normal and give a big F##k You like the French did.
I suppose just having these thoughts mean they have won
This is not a political statement in any way, just wondering if anyone else thinks twice or just carry on.

I heading to Amsterdam next week and never even gave it a second thought. I guess if they are going to attack the RLD I'll be fucked, but I'll go out smiling.

Exactly, we cannot let them win!
Carry on as usual I say.
Terrorist attacks can happen anywhere, if it's going to happen to me, I prefer that I will be in Amsterdam.
At least I'll have had a good time before I go!

i was thinking something similar to this in the wake of the past few days. how come the RLD has never been attacked in this manner? i mean, surely it's a cesspit of filth, hell and damnation to these type of people right?

well, it's a cesspit of filth, hell and damnation ANYWAY but y'know what i'm tryna say ;)

on a serious note though, you let shit like this stop you from doing anything and they've won. that's my opinion anyway.

I went to Amsterdam one week after 9/11. It was one of the best trips I ever had.

I half remember an old joke about revenge.
The basic idea was that it is supposed to be like an opera-
lots of treachery and violence and chest pounding, backed by a booming orchestra.
The punch line was that "nobody goes to the opera to see Prince Igor take his revenge by living a long and happy life!"
But I think that is the best revenge.
Live a long and colorful life. Tell lots of funny stories.
Make the bad guys run and hide. Then get a cold beer. And a BJ.
and think to yourself
"Who is winning now, asshole?"

it was some consideration especially since one of the Dutch Mayors who is muslim came out and spanked ISIS. ISIS tends to attack those infidels who make fun of them and it's possible Netherlands is next on their list.

but look, and with no disrespect to the muslims, before I get to fuck 72 virgins, I want plenty of practice with hot, young and skilled hookers. each virgin will be much thankful...

I haven't given it a second thought although quite a few people here (Canada) that I know are now chicken. I just say, if my time is up, it is up, otherwise I will have fun like I always do. To think otherwise is to acknowledge that 'they' have won.

Besides, just booked a trip to my Happy Place in May. It's gonna be great!

It's worth remembering the assassination of Theo Van Gogh, and pondering the lack of moral clarity right up to today.

I've been here all week. The city seems different. Not be chase of a threat just feels less fun for some reason. Maybe it's the season but all the girls I talk to say things are not great. Having said all that, I'll be out there tonight as its beautiful and no threat of rain.
