So, I was in Amsterdam last week, stumbled across this board and have been following it religiously since! Last week was actually my first time in Amsterdam (with family), but the brief glimpses I got of the RDL have had my mind reeling for quite some time now. That being the case I actually booked a little solo trip for myself (1 day) from the afternoon of the 9th to the night of the 10th.

From what I've read it sounds like there's SO much fun to be had, that I just don't want to get overloaded and miss out on anything. My hotel is Atlantis, so I'm right between De Pijp and the main RDL. Having little experience with either I was wondering what the difference was? Ideally, I'd like to visit both! Just wondering what to expect from either, besides the fat that one is smaller and more private.
Additionally, I'd like to check out a brothel, but am a little lost on that front. Seems like there are a lot in the 'Dam, but reading all the old posts I"m not really sure what's open anymore.

Also planning to check out a sex show (maybe to kick off my trip) so any recommendations on a club would be great!
I may sound a littttttle ambitious with what I'm asking, but I'm hoping for a big trip since it's only essentially a day.

You could fit in all what you want to do if you plan your day well.I would catch tram out to park 118 and do the private house visit first.From there the smaller red light district is walkable this area is smaller and not so touristy you could visit a girl there.As a first timer in the red light district main area its best to visit at nighttime after dark just has a totally different feel than day shift.So its easy to fit what you want into one day.
