Going back to Amsterdam end of the year for my 2nd visit. Curious if anyone would recomend taking a day trip somewhere? Read a recent post about The Hague. All input in welkom

Alkmaar and Haarlem are both worth visiting, as well as Den Haag. The RLD areas can be quiet though but still good fun having a look around. There's also a few Coffeeshops dotted around too if you fancy having a sit down for a few smokes. From Amsterdam Central Station, return tickets are 12-15 Euro. Takes about 20 minutes to get Haarlem and about 1 hour to Alkmaar.

Alkmaar and Den Haag both have good RLDs.

Haarlem RLD is too small and inactive to be worth it, but the town is nice to visit as a tourist and it is very near to Amsterdam.
