Hi,

I have just come back from staying at the Hotel Terminus. I was there last week. I usually stay elsewhere but everywhere was fully booked so booked on Bookings.nl and when arrived got upgraded to one of the business rooms which was a nice suprise (I had booked a double room).

I enjoyed my stay there, excellent location, my room and bathroom was huge by dutch standards with double bed, sofa, tv, safe (very important) and coffee making stuff. I know some of the other rooms can be a bit pokey there but if I can secure the same type of room again I will definitely be booking there again. Staff were friendly, there is a nice bar there just passed reception if you are waiting for anybody you can have a drink while waiting.

Only drawback was I didn't have aircon and got bitten by the mozzies on the first night cos I had the window open. The rooms can get quite hot.

We've stayed at the Terminus ... we had a "business" room which was spacious and well-equipped, if a little shabby. The bathroom was huge by Dutch standards, and the service was OK. It's a little noisy, but you'd expect that, being so close to the RLD.

Stayed at the Luxer Oct 2005. It is a small hotel on a small and busy Warmosstraat. There are coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, etc surrounding the hotel. The first room I had was totally uncleaned, so they gave me another with no argument. The room is small, but clean and with all of the basic necessities. I did not find it to be too quiet though. 90E so not so expensive compared to many other Amsterdam hotels. The staff was exceptionally friendly. There is a very good breakfast bar included in the price as well. I walked from Central Station, about a 15 minute walk, so not too bad. I initially had some trouble finding it as the hotel does not really "stand out" but blends in with the many other shops on the street, and I thought Warmoestraat came all the way up to the main road running in front of Central Station, but it does not.

In my case, I will probably not stay there again. The hotel is OK for what it is and certainly not expensive. If you are into the coffee shops and late night partying, it is for you. For me, I will upgrde to something a little bit luxurious and pay a little bit more.
