These hotels are listed as having "handicapped rooms/facilities". I would contact the hotel and ask for specifics.

NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky

The Grand Amsterdam, Sofitel Demeure

Hotel Pulitzer

Hotel de l'Europe

Renaissance

Sofitel Amsterdam

Swissotel

I have to say the Dutch are not great at catering for those that aren't fit and healthy. Some of their stairs are extraordinary - more like ladders - and I've not seen too much in terms of wheelchair accessibility.

I'm sure there will be places, though.

Hi Groovem,

it's true, wheelchair accessibility and other extra facilities are in NL not developed like they are in the US - though , last saturday I went to a (Snowy White) concert with a wheelchaired friend of mine and I was surprised by the help everybody gave her (backstage) in carrying the whole car up and down the stairs -
There are coffeeshops on groundlevel , there are where you can sit outside on the canal (Wallenarea) -
for touring the Wallen you need some horsepower in your car , don't go on Friday or Saturdaynight because you will get lost in the crowd .....
