I am going to Amsterdam on oct14 to oct22 for work. Anyone been there that could give me some ideas on what to do for fun? Where to eat maybe some good clubs? I have never been to europe so this will be new to me. I am more the tropical kind of guy. Any ideas would be great. I have been going through the device and cant wait to get to the ladies! Also any tips from the regulars would be great.

This is the hotel work is having me stay NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky. Is it a nice place? Is it close to rld.

Thanks

of the Rld ;)

The Kras is the ONLY place I stay @ while there. I've stayed in at least 5 other places and like the Kras by far the best. If you have a little extra cash to spend, you could hire a private boat to give you a tour around Amsterdam. The people at the front desk can arrange it for you. We did that 1 year and the boat came with a driver, enough seats for @ least 20 people, a fully stocked bar and best of all, you can puff away while cruising around! Make sure you go the the Hard Rock as the casino and Vondel park are right there as well. There are many unique places to eat in town. There are some good books which tell you some great places to find every kind of food you can imagine. If you live near an AIA store, your sure to find the right books there. If you have the time, a day trip to Utrecht is a great time. There is a rld on boats not too far from the train station. The low canals there are awesome. Its a fun college type town which should not be missed. Just wandering around Amsterdam is a blast in itself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats great to here! Cant wait to tour the rld. I like the boat idea and casino Idea also. Thanks for the replys bros. I am a young 38 will this be a problem with the ladies? I have and still always date younger women 18 thru 30 so I dont think there will be a problem. Also whats the weather going to be like? When you go out to the clubs whats the dress code? casual or sharp? Might sound dumb but like I said I have never been to europe.

Thanks again for the tips.

I'm a not so young 51, and it's never been a problem for me. As long as you've got the green to cover your grey, age is not an issue... Unless you have severe old man smell. But a nice shower should take care of that as well.

You people are way too worried
about age, dress codes, et al. Just go,
wear whatever you want, and enjoy
yourself. Amsterdam is one of the
most liberal (in all senses of the word)
cities in the world. Be yourself, and have
a good time. You have absolutely nothing
to worry about.
Oh, the weather. It should not be that cold--yet.
Bring a jacket or a sweater and you'll be all
set. I've been there in December, and it
wasn't that bad.

The weather over the next few weeks is low to mid 60's during the day, a bit cooler @ night. Showers will appear here and there, sometimes more frequent than others. I've never seen it rain longer than a few hours and its usually not steady all day. I've been there in the snow which was pretty cool. 1 VERY important thing to bring is good, comfortable walking sneakers/shoes. On 1 of my excursions, I had a new pair of Nikes that were brutal. Bought a new pair of sneaks not far from my hotel for around 80E and wore them the rest of the trip although they were not what I had hoped them to be. Haven't worn them since. If your feet are not feeling good, you won't enjoy yourself nearly as much as you will want to walk around there quite a bit. We've wandered into the night many times and I can't see doing it any other way. As for the boat ride, if your staying at a half decent hotel, go to the concierge and tell them you want to hire a boat for a private party. They'll have you set up in no time. Be sure to find out if the boat comes with a stocked bar, the hourly rate and the boats seating capacity. I'm pretty sure ours sat well over 20 and don't think I paid more than 150-200E. I've traveled to many places and Amsterdam is still my favorite. There are many places one can get good smoke, women, whatever the heart desires, but still, there is no place like A'dam.
