Hi
A week today I shall be in the mecca. Anyone know if they have CD players in the rooms at the Kras or am I being just a little too ambitious?
Cheers

I always bring me music with me--can't go without, in a metropolitan situation anyways. A pair of mini-speakers doesn't run too much, and they come in mighty handy when you find yourself chilling in Vondel Park perhaps, or late night in the room, and you'd like some background music....
Last time in Amsterdam, I wound up sitting on my bloody cd player (in my back pocket) and crushing it beneath my mighty weight. I had to shell out 39 euros for a stand-in from an electronics store down in de Pijp (a cheesy little joint called De Kijkshop). Anyways, this piece of garbage is already on it's last limbs for me here in NYC.
When, oh when shall I ever buy an iPod?!?!?! For someone who listens to music so much, it's certainly an overdue purchase! Just have to rummage around for a spare $300 dollars...
Wishful thinking,
Uber.

Cheers fellas.
Shame as trying to travel light to ensure I have plenty of room for all the Chocomels I plan on bringing home! Have they got the full monty TV package in there then - MTV, VH1 etc?
'Chef - got to get me a digital camera first. I'm such a dinosaur.

I remember a lot of realllllly bad German MTV. I swear to god I heard the same Green Day & Chemical Brother songs for 2 solid weeks.
Personally when I'm in town I tune in to Radio Veronica 538... I'm actually streaming XFM right now but I don't know if that actually comes in on a real radio. Radio in general in A'dam is spot on for my taste!

Don't know about the rooms in the main hotel, but the apartments usually have a (less than hi-fi) mini-system with a CD player and radio. I usually take my iPod rip-off and a stereo phono lead to plug into an aux socket on the mini-system. MP3's through my laptop usually sound like a pale imitation of music.
On the TV front, what channels the Kras has are limited - they're very prudent (read frugal) in Holland. Usually get BBC 1 &2, CNN & Sky news, German MTV (which does only play 2 songs per fortnight) and about 15 local/German channels which seem to feature earnest discussions on the importance of beechwood in the manufacture of early woodwind instruments or the parlous state of world trade in marzipan.

Cheers for replies everyone. And I don't plan on spending too much time in me room. That said, I'd like an escort or two - rude not to with a 5* - but can't be doing the do with some German techno or whatever as background music you know? No offence to any German techo fans out there but I'm strictly roots myself which, as it happens, is very conducive to a top shag!
Peace
