I have heard that exchanging the dollar for euros has become difficult. Is this fact or fallacy?

Why would it be difficult?

There are those who claim the dollar is undesireable to be holding. There was a story that the currency traders in Amsterdam were avoiding the dollar. I was curious if that was indeed true.

Right now the 'wholesale' rate is $1.3363 to one euro. So the euro has risen 0.1% against the dollar today. If currency traders were indeed shorting the dollar as you suggest today's change would have been much more dramatic!

Thankyou for replying. I had been informed currency traders would not even accept US dollars in trade. I guess that isn't the case then.

That's total nonsense, but it does suck for us American who
go to the Dam. The exchange rate really hurts us bad.
Hopefully in the coming months, years it will get better
for us. I can't imagine how much fun I could have if the
exchange rate was near 1:1. I'll keep hoping.
