Oh, I see. That really IS a problem

Here in the US, we have taken care of that sort of thing by simply making it all illegal. That eliminates the serious problems that you describe and limits it to easy to handle problems such as:
a few thousand people killed each year along the Mexican border (I think they only count the Americans)
millions, if not billions, of dollars going into the hands of organized crime instead of government coffers
dozens of police officers killed or wounded
hundreds of millions of dollars spent in the name of prevention
bloated court dockets to hear the cases
diversion of police resources from less important work, such as investigation of violent crimes
overcrowding of jails with nonviolent drug users, requiring the release of other prisoners to make room for them

I wonder when the Netherlands will follow the UK's lead and re classify weed as a dangerous substance?
Also on a slight tangent how come the dutch can get away with it being legal there yet illegal everywhere else? Surely EU laws are meant to be universal throughut the community?

Yep Dogs,we here in the good old U S of A have it all figured out. Do you ever stop and take note of how many TeeVee ads in the US are pushing drugs and the amount of drug stores is overwhelming. You can even get your drugs 24 hours a day at select drug stores. This whole country is on drugs but by golly we will not tolerate someone firing up a joint....no sir. Its okay to drink until you are in a stupor or pop prescription pills by the handfull but do not even think of having a "stick of marijuana".......
