Going to keep it simple:

This weekend there is a memorial/wake for an old friend and everyone is coming into town. One of the guys walks into the hotel room last night comments that he knows he couldn't get anything good to smoke here in the midwest so he brought us all some. Whips out what he calls NY Diesel. It is a strain he came across and has been home growing it for awhile. Called it his "daily smoke."

Has anyone else smoked this?

I went easy on it and was very surprised. It was pleasant smoke, didn't cough much (remember I rarely smoke anymore), came on quickly, very pleasant buzz, could easily stay involved in the conversation, etc... Something I could definitely see smoking in The NL and walking around the city/musuems/etc...

It's pretty common in Amsterdam actually, though many shops don't have it all year.
should be a 60% sativa 40% indica, if i'm not wrong is an hybrid from sour diesel, hawaiian and afghani.
Smell and taste are pretty sweet, citrus like.

you are right in calling it in a day time smoke, it's not overwhelming at all.

had it at 420, was decent, just not my kind of smoke, i prefer to fly high on hazes lol

NYC Diesel is a common smoke in Amsterdam.

I actually quite like it and it's usually mid price range (somewhere around 8euro a gram). It's a very nice daytime hybrid smoke with a nice buzz and body hit. I would say it's an acquired taste.

I know Hunters Coffeeshop usually have it and i've seen it in shops like Rusland Coffeeshop, Dampkring Coffeeshop, Popeyes Coffeeshop, Bluebird Coffeeshop etc etc

I've never seen a batch where I live though. It's very hard to get anything other than a Cheese-cross here.

NYD has become a bit of a traditional smoke for me when I hit Amsterdam.

It was the first bag I purchased in Holland so I make sure I pay homage every time I touch down in the city.

It is also the weed that totally destroyed my friend.
