I am busy planning another fun trip to the Dam and just need to know if anything has changed with smoking weed outside...
I arrived a couple of summers back and the weather was so nice I chose myself a nice pint of lager to go with my bag. I sat by the canal and got through the whole lot with not a batter of an eye lid from anyone...
Does this policy still exist?? I'm looking to block out a whole day for some canal side smoking....
Thanks in advance

Never was such a policy! The law has always been that it's not allowed. However, if you're discreet, don't smoke next to families or kids, nobody will bother you, not even cops 99.9% of the time

Was there last weekend and the sun was out. Smoked in Vondelpark, outside Susies saloon, walking down the street....no problems. Just don't be a twat about it. Top tip, if it's nice get yersel a pedalo and have your very own canal tour with a liberal drinking/smoking policy.

Use your judgement. I was there this weekend and was walking trying to decide whether it was cool to toke. Along comes a couple pushing a stroller and the dad is smoking. So I just settled behind them and walked for a while.

Just back myself from the dam. you can still smoke most places just keep away from family and children really.
I smoke outside my hotel or down the street I would say a few people might give you a dirty look or cough or in my case loads of people was spitting all the time.
police are cool by it in Amsterdam but every other town the police are bit more tighter on people smoking weed public street and that.
