I've a career-related exam coming up in July, and was intending to book two weeks off, and use one to travel around Europe for a bit before spending the second one studying. Happily, that would allow me some quality mongering time in the places I'm visiting, which will include Amsterdam, Berlin and Brussels.

The first two, I've mongering in in the past. Amsterdam I visited last year and won't need any pointers for, but its been six years since I was last in Berlin, and I've never mongered in Brussels (though I've visited). If I was to have a day or two free in Berlin or Brussels, what would the recommended places for mongering to visit be?

I suppose there's always local services here in London if the lockdown hasn't eased by then. I am not sure yet about the full re-opening of Brussels (including sex workers in the RLD) in mid-June 2020. You are far more optimistic than I am! As such, the trip is currently cancelled and off limits in my view.

If the RLD is closed but I am allowed to go to Belgium freely (without the need for any self-quarantine), then perhaps choosing some carefully selected escorts would be an option and a possible plan B. However, the thought of just a 'normal' holiday is always an option too! :)

It's a good question; here in the UK they are quarantining new visitors for two weeks, and the promised easing off of lockdown restrictions didn't really pan out. I think we are going to be dealing with this nonsense well into 2021. Personally, I've booked my time off already but made no travel arrangements. I'm keeping a weather eye on whether or not Eurostar will be running to Brussels, with half a thought that I could get a legover at the RLD in June, but right now the situation is very much one of slow easing, rather than the return to normal I'd initially assumed it would be back in March.

So while HoReCa can be open in phase 3 (from 8 June at the earliest), nothing is said about sexwork or non (para-)medical contact based professions.

Normally prostitution is regulated at the municipality level so that would be the mayor of Brussels making the decision. Question is based on what will this decision be made. Hard to predict since this never happened before.

Personally I wouldn't make too much plans in front unless you are sure or have plan B.

My trip in mid June is coming up shortly and based on the current circumstances, it seems very clear that it is a write off.

Have had no luck trying to get my paid hotel bookings to change the dates. It seems like it will just be an expensive dud and I will be out of pocket.
I have to praise flight companies, they have at least offered changing dates or getting vouchers for the value of the flights However, the hotels have been very uncooperative.

Bars/cafes/restaurants are allowed to reopen june 8 but under conditions (social distancing).
It is not that all bans will be lifted in Belgium this monday, e.g. casinos, nightclubs will remain closed.
Borders will be re-opened 15 june.

Sexwork is not mentioned in the last press conference (not explicitly allowed or prohibited).
I don't expect that the reopening of RLD's will be decided at federal, regional or community level but in this case the mayor of Schaerbeek (and Saint Josse).

Given the social distancing requirements in bars it would be illogical to reopen the 'bars' in Rue d'Aerschot, then again in Belgium things don't have to be logical.

So no clear answer, we'll have to wait till Monday. (My personal opinion: wouldn't count on it though it is not entirely impossible).

I've read on a Belgian forum that the RLD of Ghent has reopened, but with limited opening hours, and rules wrt hygiene.

On a French forum, a poster said that Schaerbeek is working on a hygienic protocol, and that it has to be validated before Rue D'Aerschot could reopen.

As for Antwerp, someone said that they are preparing to open next week, but also with limited opening hours (7AM - 1AM).

Lets wait and see...
