Layover in Schipol

Hi,

I'll be travelling in mid August from the UK to Asia. The outward flight has a layover of just over 4 hours, and the flight back (in September) has a layover of roughly 9 hours.

During either of these layovers, would there be enough time for me to leave the airport and go for a wander around? I've been to Amsterdam before so I know my way, but I was just wondering about the time it would take to get the train back from Centraal to Schipol, and clear security.

Both flights are KLM, so I presume they'll transfer my baggage without me having to do anything. I am also a UK national so I shouldn't have any problems leaving the airport should I?

Thanks all :)

You're plenty of time.
Anyway, try a search for layover, it has been talked a lot yet about it.

The 4 hour layover would give you only about an hour in town. The longer layover would give you plenty of time to go into town and enjoy the RLD/Coffeeshops. There should be no problems with you leaving the airport.

Peace

Sorry, I know it's been talked about before, but wanted to make sure.

I've just heard stories of the security getting back into schipol being very busy in summer. The last time I went to Amsterdam was December, and I just got off the train, went upstairs and straight through passport control, it didn't take long.

Is it also the simple case of just walking out of the airport when I land, through arrivals etc? Or will I have problems because I'm on a layover? I'll have my boarding passes all printed out before I leave the UK anyway.

Other than going through Passport Control, yes its that easy. Since you have UK passport I doubt they will even blink and eye.

Peace
