Curious to know how many laps you other guys do when in the RLD? I couldn't decide the other day and must of walked round the RLD numerous times to the point where some girls were noticing and making comments haha! They must get fed up of seeing me walking round lots :)

Hi,

The first time I really went to the RLD (back in 2008) I did two laps and didn't find La Vie en Rose building, and Trompettersteeg, as well as Sint Annenstraat and Goldbergersteeg.

The second time, one year later, I did something like twenty laps I think before i found Sanya in Dolleb. Couldn't decide before and I felt I was about to giving up (I could have met Max as she was working very close to Dolleb) and at the very last moment on the way to the hotel I eventually decided to follow my instinct and took the plunge with a cheerful girl.

I have seen in the recent years guys doing laps and laps, apparently deciding at the very last moment who to visit and where to go. I've seen guys waiting as well at the door (for Lily in Stoofsteeg for example, for Max as well, for dutch Nina, for German Kim). I did personally waited 45 minutes for Jennifer_Cutie at one night in Oudekennissteeg and she never came as she wasn't working that night (I wasn't aware of that and the curtain was constantly closed).

But you have to know that they have seen many things and unless you do some funny face or point your middle finger in front of them there's is no particular reason to a girl to say to get the fuck out of where you standing (unless if the girl is pushy and hates to be seen or stared for minutes). I have seen a few very patient girls just waiting from the inside of the window in front of drunk people acting like morons and they were basically not responding.

Yes there is no reason to be afraid of doing laps and laps and laps again.

Personally, I mostly only do laps when I'm looking for someone specific and they're busy. Even then, I usually go sit at the round bench near the Oude Kerk for ten minutes or so between laps. I have had a few days where I was just feeling indecisive, though. Then I'll usually just lap until someone jumps out at me (figuratively, of course).

The girls are savvy, they know what you're doing. They know you're probably looking for someone specific, especially if you're going down the same street over and over, or you just haven't made up your mind yet. You're not gonna bother them.

I wore a pedometer one trip and was clocking 15-20 miles each day, mostly from lapping the two main RLDs.
Really need to be more decisive.
Of course a lot of it was weed and music ever fuelled.

I guess I do at least 3 laps a day though often more if I am waiting for someone. I really hate standing in one place just waiting so I will typically start wondering around and returning every 20 mins or so. In the early years I have literally spent all day slowly walking around because the RLD is what I came for and it felt wrong to leave. Over the years I must have lapped those streets at least 1000 times.

Yes I also missed that area for several trips and many more before I realised La Vie en Rose was more windows and not some dodgy club.

The first few times I actually walked De Wallen for HOURS before deciding. Seriously. I was in a well tailored business suit too so stood out as well. In fact I went off had dinner and came back and lapped again before committing. The girl jokes that she felt lucky and honoured and that I had made for amusing conversation.

Some girls are very cheeky.

Max was. She had her demeanor at the window. At the time when she was VERY popular in kamer 21-1, she used to stand with her arms behind her back or lied in her bed waiting patiently. I do remember those moments when she was quietly prowling after us. From the outside it was permitted to wave at her when you were passing by and you could be sure she would wave you back from the inside. Once entered in her room you were sure she would hug you and welcome you with the warmest smile. A legend.

Did I pass by like 15 times in front of Marta's kamer ? Certainly. Because it was the easiest way to comeback to Hotel Atlanta before leaving the city and taking the Thalys. Each time I was waving at her once arriving in front of her kamer but never stopped during those 25 times. Once, i decided to take the plunge. So i finally stopped. And she opened the door, I said "Hi" and introduced myself and she replied "Well, you finally came in !" With that huge smile of her. From that moment she hooked me up and one hour later I was finishing on her tits. Wow.She has a great sense of humour, her polish accent was over the top and we had long conversations about life, we were talking about this and that.

So girls are very talkative when they feel confident with you. And the laps you can make before you stop your choice doesn't really matter. From the moment you polite, open-minded and fair to her, then it shouldn't have any pb in the room.

Apart from La vie en rose, where spaces are too narrow and people flow may be very high (2 or 3 nuns group is nothing, they MUST be at least 25) with the risk of an ants march, I never had any trouble in making 15-20 laps within 15-20 minutes, it could have simply been much more...: as soon as one passes through without standing in front of a window, no one is allowed to complain at all.
The point may be the opposite, I mean from my own perpesctive hearing a girl gently stating "so many times here honey...you cannot decide yet?" makes me a little bit sad for her, my mean reply would be "definitely not you" :D ; no, I just friendly smile back, neither she nor I can be reported for not looking attractive enough! :D :D

xiola,
Have you tried to do 10 laps in a row in Trompettersteeg on a Saturday night at midnight ?

:-)

Haha :-),

that is the point, along with my example on La vie en rose: when it comes to high traffic jam, every single lap may take too long time, with the result that you find yourself in front of the same women for longer than two seconds, so in the end no one is intended to provoke anyone, therefore let's avoid such situations, by the grace of common sense.

My personal experience was though focused some months ago on the obsessive search for Bulgarian Veronika at the corner of Sint Annenstraat, 2nd or 3rd window from right to left: hoping to find her free this way, I had my 20 minutes laps in that area, so Sint-Dolle, Sint-Dolle, Sint-Dolle... yes, at least 20 times! :O - no girl told me anything, if any, it was just that kind of harmless comment I mentioned above, so... in the end the perpetually valid motto is "being a sex worker does not necessarily mean you have to be a bitch" (Sofocles :D)

There's an annoying girl in La Vie en Rose. Usually when I pass she makes some catty remark to her neighbour. It's something like "I have seen this guy for 8 years walking round and round and he never visits anyone". With breaks of at least 8 weeks between trips and countless "visits" to girls it's pretty illogical what she says.

I always feel a bit conspicuous in La Vie En Rose, usually it's fairly quiet in there, the girls have the doors open and say "Hi" as you come past.....if I take a look in there a few times during my stay I start to feel like they recognise me and feel a bit awkward when I refuse their offers to "come inside!" I noticed a very hot girl in kamer 1 or 2 there back in February on days, but of course I couldn't find her again during the rest of my stay when I wanted to actually visit her....

I often seem to time my walks down there badly, with a sudden influx of tourists appearing in a group from the other end....I passed around 50 people down there a few days ago! How do they even notice the street exists when they are starting from the narrow end.....I always come down the other way, should be a one-way street! I've also seen someone trying to get down it on a motor-scooter. Didn't work.

As for laps of the Wallen, I think some girls know my face and recognise me as some guy that never visits them..but it doesn't really bother me. It's a bit more awkward if you are walking past your regular girls without going in, so I try and avoid that!

I would probably only do something like 3 laps before making up my mind, but if I'm waiting for someone in particular, or I'm not sure if /where they are working or their regular room has the curtain closed and I'm waiting to check if they are actually there.......it can take a while longer. Gets annoying if there are busy nightshift crowds, but I do like to have a general look around to see if there's anyone who catches my eye, even if I'm planning in advance to visit one girl in particular.

Yes Tromp can be a nightmare. I remember a wheel chair coming down it once only to find it was too narrow to get through forcing a massive reversal of everyone following. Sometimes people take a dump at the narrow end and it gets spread everywhere.
I used to make appointments with Nina and occasionally she would go over time with a previous client. I didn't feel like I could walk away so I would spend 10 minutes or so trying to be as thin as possible and let people pass and also try not to stand in front of another girl's window. Drunken Brits would constantly bump into me and be shouting 2 inches from my ear at each other. Initial horniness at the prospect of another Nina session would gradually be replaced with rage. Once inside it was quickly forgotten though my first words uttered to her were often "fucking people"!

On my most recent trip a few weeks ago my best distance was 24 km in one day. I was staying in the Museumplein area and walked quite a bit that day but also used the trams as well. There is no better city for wearing out my shoes! I know a couple of years back I did 30 km.

Does going with a list of providers and heading over when you see one help? Or do you just find yourself browsing about and a bit at a loss?

Usually when I'm in the RLD I have maybe 2 or 3 girls in mind that I've seen before that are likely to be working on that shift. Sometimes I'll intend to visit a specific girl and go straight to her window - at the moment my most regular girl is Rosie.

Quite often some of these girls won't be available because they're on holiday, or they are working but very busy, or its their day off, or they just suddenly disappear from the scene and then re-appear just when you thought they had gone for good.....

I do enjoy taking a look around - it can get a bit annoying when the streets are very crowded at night, but if you just shuffle around at the pace of the crowd you can take mental notes of who is working, girls that look interesting e.t.c

I might do 2 or 3 laps then pick a girl, but if you have one of the more popular girls in mind (for example the wonderful and beautiful Lilly) it's probably best to go straight in as you may never see her window free again! I only end up "at a loss" when my usual girls are not around, I take ages picking a new girl, then her curtain is closed when I finally make up my mind!

So yes it's definitely worth taking a list of the girls you would like to visit. It would also be worth finding their kamer at a quiet time of day when there are few people around (even if the girl doesn't work at that time) just so you know exactly where to look later on.

I like trying new girls at random (i.e based purely on looks), but these days when doing this it can be best to lower your expectations. If you are comfortable negotiating, you might be able to figure out which girls are more likely to give you a good session by the way they talk, their negotiating style and their body language. If they just vaguely agree to anything and keep saying "yes baby...come inside" you might end up with a CBJ from a girl who hasn't bothered to take any of her clothes off. Some of them may be OK if you negotiate, but a bit lazy if they think you are a 1st time tourist. On the other hand it can be counterproductive to be too demanding; if you seem like a nice person some girls will treat you nicely in return. The usual "€50, suck and fuck, naked?" kind of questioning is probably adequate, but what they say at the door and what they do inside are sometimes two different things!

Personally I find it's increasingly common to find that a lot of randomly chosen girls are a bit of a waste of time at €50. Some of them will be much better at €100, but sometimes you can end up throwing "good money after bad". Usually I'll do a €50 session out of curiosity, refuse any upselling, and basically decide whether I like the girl enough to visit her again and try a €100 session if necessary. I tend to be interested in girls based on their looks much more than level of service, so I'm willing to take my chances and I'll enjoy a session with a stunner even if all she does for €50 is a CBJ. Angel is a good example of a girl who will do very little at €50 but turns into a bit of a vixen if you accept her upselling.

Back in the day (early to mid 90s) I would lap the place time and time again. I was not necessarily looking for somebody in particular, just looking for a particular type that I was keen to session with there and then. The more I saw the bigger the buzz I got. I was simply hooked. Didn't matter if it was raining, cold, hot I would still lap the place time and time again. Loved the place.

At various times I'm sure I made 10 or so laps before deciding. There's a lot of choices and if you can't find a favorite it's a crap shoot. I've had a few girls make comments about haw many times I passed before choosing. The walk is always enjoyable.

I lose count how many times. At one point I walked up and down Dolleb atleast 3 times almost in a row because I couldn't decide between 2-3 different girls. I ended up standing in front of them for about 10 seconds and just walked into the best looking one. Probably should have chosen one of the others.
