It's always their choice. They can always say no, and they don't have to say why.

Exactly this. It's up to them. I kind of doubt they'd reject someone for being ugly, unless they were like really, really, elephant man-disfigured ugly, but I suppose it is possible. I'd think it'd be more likely that they'd reject someone based on their demeanor or behavior, if someone was obviously very drunk and/or high, or if someone had obvious hygiene issues.

Generally, as long as you make an effort to be clean and not smell like a barn, and don't act in a creepy or threatening way, you likely won't have any issues. I'm a big guy and kinda scary-looking, but I dress decently, always make sure to shower before I go out, wear nice cologne, and I'm always polite. I've never had any issues at all with girls not letting me in.

I've been rejected only once.

I am not new to the RLD so I know it was nothing I did or because of my appearance.

After some research I discovered the girl was a complete bitch and I'm glad she sent me away.

She is not there anymore so I will leave it at that.

I have on several occasions witnessed a polite decline from window girls, normally by just turning their back or a wiggle of a finger. The cause of the rejection... Being too overweight! (It was not me being rejected... Before you ask!)

I see lots of black and Arab looking guys turned away. I was turned away once by that little minx Angel, I think because it was raining and I was pretty wet.
It's nice to know that however old I get there will always be some lovelies that will take me.

Just a quick comment, and I don't mean this as a criticism of anyone's grooming etc. However, if acceptability to working girls is the goal, I would advise against wearing cologne. It's a not so infrequent complaint I hear from girls that the smell of the cologne will be left on their skin or in the room long after the guy leaves.

Keep in mind that women have a more acute sense of smell than men (scientific fact!) so what you think is subtle may not seem that way to them.

Also many providers will go without perfume so that guys won't bring home olfactory evidence to the wife/girlfriend!

Huh. I'd never really thought of that. I'm kind of a cologne guy, it's a bit if a hobby of mine, so I'm basically always wearing something. I have a particular fragrance I tend to wear when I go to Amsterdam, because it's very crowd-pleasing (and very expensive, so I smell like money, which in my experience tends to lend itself to people treating me better), and I've never had any issues at all. In fact, both Desi and Simona liked it so much that they wanted to know what it was so they could buy it for themselves! (It's unisex)

Colognes can definitely be hit-or-miss, though. What I wear has gotten a lot of compliments from the girls, and it is quite light so it doesn't tend to linger, but I could definitely imagine it being an issue with guys who use something very heavy and cloying, especially if they're the kind of guy who just drenches themselves in the stuff (subtlety, fellas! A couple light sprays'll do!).

It's all subjective, of course. What one girl loves, another might hate. I see Neurosynth's point. I'm still gonna keep wearing it, though. It's my thing.

Yep, I have seen guys get turned away from a window before, it's not so rare.

I have to say, in my now quite long experience of Amsterdam, I have NEVER seen anyone get turned away due to being 'ugly'.

90% of the time it is black/arab guys who are turned down, which is a shame as it appears to be done mainly on racial grounds by girls from Eastern Europe largely.

The other 10% from my experience has been on age not weight. I have seen a few girls in their 20's turn down guys who from their appearance looked to be late 60's or older.

Many of the girls I have visited turn those people down. They include the nicest, friendliest ones I have ever been with and many were Dutch (before the EEs came). They tell me that some of these guys treat the girls badly and I believe it's a cultural thing. If you are brought up in a community that labels western women sluts and western prostitutes scum then you are more likely to treat them badly. I think this was the reason there was trouble in Germany on new years eve. So I think it's about how people have been brought up rather than race.
If they were simply racist they would probably still see those people. I am sure they hate having sex with a very old person, a very fat person and a very ugly person so why would they turn away a race of people they didn't like?

Sorry don't agree with that at all- in my experience a large number of EE girls are racist, and by the way that has been my experience of EE girls outside of windows who have nothing do do with the rld and have never even visited Amsterdam! Simply being black for e.g. does not in my view mean you will behave in a specific way or have been brought up in a certain way- it has much more to do with your nationality (not only race) social position, personal and or family background and a whole myriad of social and economical factors.

A girl seeing a black person has no clue where, how, or by who he has been brought up by and how he will behave.

I realize that certain girls may have had bad experiences in the past.

It's not just an Amsterdam or Eastern Europe thing. A lot of escorts pretty much everywhere tend to have a "no black guys" policy. If you go on backpage or whatever similar site here in Canada or in the US, a very significant percentage of girls will state in their ads that they will not see blacks.

Apparently, from what I've been told, there's the perception that black guys will often try to rob or abuse them, and even if they don't, will try to hustle them in regards to price. Again, not saying it's right, but it's what seems to be the general perception amongst a lot of these girls.
