I've seen what De Wallen has become over the years, and it's precisely because of people like the OP. If the site is "completely useless" today, I'd say that's because Amsterdam is no longer worth visiting (unless you're just coming for the museums or whatever, in which case you're not reading this.) How can it be useful when it primarily concerns a city that has simply become a place for tourists and locals alike to get ripped off? But nah, let's just blame it all on me, right?

In the end, I donate my precious little free time and handle the operating costs out of my own pocket (the ads never made money so I finally removed them) just to keep this place alive, mostly for a handful of friends here who I know would be upset if it disappeared. It's largely a thankless job, and then I have to deal with the ungrateful, entitled types like yourself on top of it. Can't say I'd recommend it really...

Funny thread this one with some quality statements. This site is hugely appreciated by I would think many many visitors over the years. The old city has lost a lot of its quality over the years but I still get the anticipation tingle on the train in. Be gutted if this site was off air as the info on lots of things is very valuable.

Yo Bluto I just wanted to say thanks man, this site is useful, I got some really good solid advice from guys on here that really helped me out. I for one can say if people don't like it, they should just fuck off and leave this site to the rest of us.

Yeah, I agree. I've found a lot of great information here over the years that's led me to some really great times. I know it can be difficult to get reviews on new girls these days, but I still try to help people out wherever I can. I like to think I've made a difference in people's experiences.

Although Amsterdam has taken a dive in terms of value and so on, I suppose I also need to remember the situation in other countries (like the US, where I'm from) and keep things in perspective here, as one of my American friends reminded me today.
