Hope everyone's having a good weekend,

Just wondered if I should buy euros before I go or over there?

Anyone know the average exchange rate in Amsterdam currently?

Thanks

Exchange rate is about 1.13 euro for a pound. Sorry, but the Pound has taken a beating.
I can't do much better changing money at home versus changing it at Pott's.

Thanks for the reply.
I'll just take sterling over, then at least less chance of changing too much and getting charged to change it back.

Going from the US to Amsterdam one is better off bringing an ATM card and getting euros from a bank machine. You generally get a better exchange rate and/or lower fees. I suspect this is also the case going from the UK to Amsterdam.

Thanks for reply but I think I'd be worse off doing that. My bank charges a non sterling transaction fee and I'd probably get charged off the bank too.

I've found it to be a similar rate to the UK, sometimes it's been slightly higher but usually about the same.
