Thing is, this site has been around in one form or another since 1995. We/I were proud to keep it going some years ago when the founder was no longer in a position to do so.

Asking if it's the best forum in terms of paid sex in Amsterdam (which is not technically what you asked, but how I interpret it) carries the implication that paying for sex in Amsterdam these days is even worth discussing in the first place. Unless you have a specific fetish in terms of getting ripped off and/or flat-out lied to, i.e. paying hundreds of euros without actually experiencing anything that was discussed at the window before handing over your cash, it's really hard for me to recommend a visit to Amsterdam to anyone under any circumstances. Our RLD ceased to be a reasonable destination for serious sex tourists many years ago.

You might come here for nostalgia, or you might simply be here because you live here, like me, and, as an unambitious person, appreciate the (socialist) work culture/climate, irrespective of the pay4play opportunities at this point. Hopefully you're young and healthy, too, since better medical care can be found in any random hellhole in Central Africa. In any event, I haven't recommended Amsterdam to tourists for many years now. I mean, for the past few years, the city seems to be doing anything and everything in its power to de-distinguish itself from other European cities. Oooohhhh.... museums! (and atrocious food....)

So, to answer your question: Maybe. But, does it even matter at this point? I honestly cannot think of a single reason to recommend a visit to Amsterdam to anyone. Nostalgia is the only reason this site even still exists... well, also the fact that one or two people with whom I keep in touch prefer to use ignatz private messaging over email. But that's it. As far as paid sex, one can go literally *anywhere* else where it's legal and have a far better time with more honest, decent girls, hence my lack of motivation to do anything more with this site... if/when it becomes too much of a pain in my ass (or gets hacked or whatever), it's gone, and I imagine it won't be missed by many.

I see that is very sad. So sorry to have missed the golden years of this place. I visited RLD a few years ago and did get ripped-off ... but had a pretty good experience after.

Same. We have a great community here. Maybe we’re not the biggest site, but lemme tell you, I’ve been active on a local hobbying board recently, and there are some stupid fucking people on that site. I love how relaxed it is here. We don’t have assholes arguing about politics, posting asinine conspiracy theory nonsense, insulting each other, acting like petulant children, etc.

What's worse than NYC, Bluto? It's a wasteland. At least the Boston Puritans are only 500,000. NYC is brimming with 9,000,000 residents, constant tourists, and there's no scene except for "Gentlemen's Clubs" and illegal high-priced, high-scam escorts. I think even AMPs are being shut down---not that they'll be missed. And weed is not legal---anything you have to buy on the street in a suspect 'hood is not legal.

Amsterdam sucks ass compared to the Amsterdam I knew in 1993, but it's Mecca compared to "free" countries like the US, and NYC in particular, where I reside.

But yes, if I were younger, I'd take your advice and choose Germany or Thailand over Amsterdam 2019. I didn't even check out the RLD at night to see the scene---I know it's just a farce of shut-down windows, "sex shops," awful, overpriced food, and cheese stores.

Firstly I am very grateful to this site for many different reasons. It will be a very sad day when it goes. I think there are many many in internet land who have been so glad of it down the years. As mentioned by Grimnul the site really doesn’t have the usual dicks on it and that is probably down to you admin guys who seem to keep it that way. As for the Dam itself yes the deterioration is really bad but I still love the city. Still love the Dutch girl telling me to be careful of my ‘shifted’ luggage after landing. The train in and exiting the station to wander as I please. There are still a good number of great providers who have become friends over the years....what can I say I am addicted to the City even the bad points can’t deter me. Rain, snow or shine I keep coming back....hope you all have great times in the City this coming year.

Glad you’ve admitted you were under the influence when posting! Thought you were too harsh on Amsterdam, though I do agree for pure punting there are probably better places.

However I still enjoy Amsterdam - nostalgia, still fairly unique with the easy access to many girls, the atmosphere, the weed. I also like this site for reasons already mentioned in this thread - and there is regularly decent stuff shared. Thanks for keeping it going.

Well, I'm afraid my views on Amsterdam are accurately expressed in that drunken posting. The booze only made me more honest, commenting on aspects of life here that don't have all that much to do with mongering... things I'd normally keep to myself (at least around my Dutch acquaintances...) I guess it's a touchy/emotional subject for me, given the depth and velocity of the decline I witnessed from my first visit up until a few years ago when I swore off Amsterdam hookers forever (and I don't find het Singelgebied or De Pijp any better either... not really. Never once had a good experience in De Pijp, and mixed experiences around Singel.)

I mainly replied in order to agree with the gentleman who opined that NYC sucks ass. I mean, I'm from Boston... how can I not chime in on that one? :-P Nah, in all seriousness, I actually like NYC for what it is. I simply don't expect to find reasonable paid sex anywhere in the US, thus all US cities are equal to me in that regard. NYC at least has that "center of the universe" thing going for it. If you're looking for something specific and can't find it in NYC, it probably doesn't exist. Boston is far more provincial in comparison.
