I don't think this has been posted yet. Apparently beginning next year (January 1st) tour groups will not be allowed in the main red light district of Amsterdam. Tour groups elsewhere will be restricted in size and taxed at a higher rate.

Good. The tour groups only hurt De Wallen. They create crowds and congestion, the people taking the tours obviously aren’t visiting the girls, you get tons of Chinese tourists taking pictures of the girls and generally being a nuisance, and you get these tour guides who either have an agenda or have absolutely no clue what they’re talking about filling people’s head with bullshit. People can go look at the Oude Kerk or the canals or whatever on their own.

Very good move restricting them. Of course, you’ll still have tour groups breaking the rules and doing it anyway, but there should be fewer of them at least.

I can't find the link, but Travel and Leisure reported that as of 1 April group tours of RLD will be banned after 7p and that as of 1 Jan group tours will be banned completely. Great news.

Oh wow, never actually expected this to happen, but this is a great move. Fantastic news.
