Well.....if it's not on the weekend, Cafe Pleinzicht is a good mix of locals and tourists. The new owner, Alex, is a great guy. Oudezijds Voorburgwal 75- across the canal from Oude Kerk. Huge windows to watch the world go by and Alex is always good with a funny story or 3.
Another local place we just found last year is Proeflokaal de Ooievaar. It's at Sint Olofspoort 1 at the beginning of Zeedijk. I know you are thinking 'how can that be local'. It's been 80% locals every time we've been in. Act like a local and be treated like a local. Great staff.
