I booked this place because it was slap bang next to the central train station (handy for both arrival/departure & getting around Amsterdam/Holland) and pretty cheap. I still intend to follow my main plan of wandering around the city and taking a day trip or two out, but does anyone know what the De Mallemoolen position on working girls visiting hotel clients is? If I order an outcall is that going to cause me a problem? Same thing as regards to weed; how are they on guys smoking indoors of an evening? I've checked on the board already, and found a thread from 2006, so I was wondering if anyone had stayed there more recently...

It's advertised as a non-smoking hotel, and I think smoking is generally banned indoors in public buildings such as hotels. If the windows open fully you could take your chances smoking at the window.

I've heard it mentioned a few times that some escort agencies won't visit hotels below 4 star, that could be an issue with the more high-end ones.

Regardless of the official hotel policy on escorts, sometimes it can just be easier to bypass reception completely, either by the girl coming straight to your room, or meeting them nearby or in the lobby and walking up to your room with them. I don't book escorts from agencies but I've had a girl to my room many times without any issues in various hotels.

This isn't usually a problem in a big hotel, but in a smaller place like this the reception will have a better idea of who is a guest and who isn't, especially if the same one or two people are on duty all the time. Some places are more bothered about unregistered / non-paying guests staying in rooms than short visits from escorts; I've seen various official polices varying from 'no guests in rooms' to 'guests must register at reception' and a lot of places have hotel magazines carrying escort ads, so they can't be all that bothered about it.

You might just have to wing it and see how it goes - if you are asking the reception directly you could always phrase it as that a 'friend' is visiting you.

I do know Society Service won’t send their ladies to hotels with less than 4 stars. I’m not sure about other higher-end agencies, but it’s likely a similar deal.

I guess I'll check the place out when I arrive and see how accessible it is with regards to things like needing room cards for the elevators etc. Good to know you can't smoke indoors, will have to track down an accessible cafe before setting off then.

I wasn't considering booking anyone fancy, just taking a look at local websites and wandering about outcall vs incall. From the sound of things, unless the hotel is nicely crowded, incall will probably be the way to go. Will stick to space cakes or truffles for the hotel room as well. There's more than one way to skin a cat after all.

When you are at the hotel you can see what kind of rules they have written down, and then maybe ask at the desk if it's going to be awkward getting a girl to your room without them noticing.

I think sometimes the rules about visitors e.t.c are to discourage, say, having a party in your room with some mates you met at the pub - they might not be too bothered about a short, discreet visit from an escort.

I try to book at larger hotels for the anonymity factor. I once booked in the boutique Hotel Roemer, with the same lady at reception at all times. The hotel entrance required a key card. I just waited for my 'date' in the lobby and escorted her to my room when she arrived. As long as the hotel doesn't post 'no guests' or some such silly thing, I don't think you should have a problem once you sort out your logistics and play it cool.

Thanks for the advice guys; I have actually done something similar once in London, booking a hotel room at a place outside my neighbourhood so I could see an outcall girl without bringing her to where I lived. While it worked out quite well that time (there was a side entrance that meant you could skip reception, so I just walked her in there and straight up to the room), it was also expensive.

Not a huge fan of SPs knowing where I call home, which was why I wouldn't do an outcall back in the UK unless traveling, but was considering one here as the hotel is already paid for. And since there's always that website Kinky, I was speculating that it might be easier to book a lady off there if "future me" was ever in the mood for a specific service like BBBJ. Certainly easier than trawling all the windows asking at random.

Will keep an eye peeled for a no guests sign and hope the place is big enough to be fairly anonymous.

Pretty much every hotel forbids smoking in rooms with few exceptions. I've been at plenty of hotels where weed and tobacco are smoked by both guests and reception outside. I may take a few toke outside when the day is done. I've had no problem, whether it be in the Vondelpark area or in De Pijp, where I tend to stay now.

I always pick up both regular cannabis and hash. In the hotel room, I open the window and put the fan on if it's working. I towel-up the bottom of the door. Hash usually has minimal odor, so that's my choice when in my room. The smoke alarm has not gone off. I hope it doesn't go off when I stay again at this hotel in three weeks.

In January, my last trip, a woman in the room next to me was caught smoking cigarettes. The alarm did go off and I believe the hotel did threaten her with the usual 150-euro fine. But a long-burning cigarette certainly gives off more smoke than a few tokes of King Hassan from a clean pipe mixed with a touch of weed for tinder.

Funnily enough, I smoke a lot of hash in pipe myself normally, its cheaper and a bit less of a hammer to the brain. I'll see if the hotel has any people hanging around outside having a puff, but if not I'll risk the pipe. Truthfully, I'm more interested in getting a girl up there if there's half a chance, its long been a fantasy of mine.
