Not wanting to judge without knowing each individual, but it looks like so many people are visiting or on holiday anyway, even with everything closed. No wonder this virus is spreading like it is.

do they open the 28th as some here wrote in another thread, or will there be further restrictions?

The restrictions have been extended until (at least) 20th May. Even then, they've already said that any relaxation of the restrictions will be minor after that date, if they relax them at all.

It's much more likely just local people going outside for a walk. This is not unique to Amsterdam; it's pretty similar in the small Dutch town where I live, and I've been doing it myself. The Dutch guidelines are not as strict as, say, the UK.

Love the video.....made me realise just how much i miss it there!
Interesting to see people fishing in the canals.....never seen that before. Im guessing the canals have cleared with no cruisers stirring it up? I was on a gondola in Venice last july and the water was like soup...I saw a pic a couple of weeks ago and it was gin clear and fish could be seen clearly.
Mother nature hits reset?

That’s very quiet for Amsterdam, particularly in that type of weather. Everyone is social distancing too.

Thanks for sharing this. It helped me see De Wallen a bit differently.

So I just went for a walk into town to pick up some things from my local Toko, and it's WAY busier here than in that video of Amsterdam. It's impossible to keep the recommended 1.5m distance from other people in the town center.

Monday is King's Day, and although there will be no celebrations this year, I wonder how many people will feel the urge to go outside anyway, especially with the good weather. I think there is a very real possibility that there will be a spike in new cases if people can't resist going outside.

Im a essential worker.
Going out into the streets your
always going to cross paths with people.
London parks very busy.
On the video people was keeping a safe distance.

Im really thinking about doing a couple of nights
later in the year to ams.
All that puts me off is prices if hotels.
Much better value in Germany these days.
