On my last trip to AmDam I was in a coffeeshop and heard a reggae-dub version of Pink Floyd's album 'Dark Side of the Moon' by a band called Easy Star All-Stars. On my return home I bought it immediately.
It is fantastic, to say the least. The songs and album length are the same as Floyd's original and claims to be Wizard of Oz compatible ; )
The version of 'Money' is wicked mon, with bong rips in 7/4 time replacing the originals' familiar droning cash register intro. Worth the price of admission alone.

VERY irie and highly recommended, my bredren and sistren. Enjoy!

Great call out. Thanks. Reminds me how I really didn't have much appreciation for Led Zeppelin until I heard Dread Zeppelin's covers: good music and a sense of humor, a powerful combo.

Now Dread Zeppelin is another classic. Saw them live in Bern/Switzerland shortly after their album came out. Thanks for the Pink Floyd tip, will certainly check it out when I get back to Europe.

Top smoking album that one. Here's three more for you all...

* Kruder & Dorfmeiser - The K&D Sessions (The ultimate smoking album)

* The Orb - Live 93 (It's like being given the keys to another realm)

* Bill Laswell - Dreams Of Freedom (Ambient Translations of Bob Marley & The Wailers In Dub)

And if anyone's interested in a free funky mix to download, check this dude's homepage out mid way down on the left. It's 30 mins long, 26mb and contains the best mash up - Outkast v Earth Wind & Fire - that you will ever hear.

All highly recommended.
