Hola from Bogota, Colombia

December 24, 2019 – Christmas Eve

It was a spontaneous decision to forgo going near the North Pole and fly to Bogota, Colombia for Christmas and New Year. Other than a 3-months and a 2-months project in Mexico, I have never traveled to South America.

After making the reservation, I read about the protests in Colombia. Unlike the violent protests in Chile, the protests in Bogota have been peaceful. Well, if I make the wages like the average locals here, I would complain too.

It’s not arrogance. But I have been very busy to conduct any research until I was on the Delta flight from Atlanta to Bogota. It was a smooth journey. I got my massage and a nice meal while checking out the cloud outside from time to time.

It was an on time arrival at Bogota airport. But it was dreadful to take the 15 minutes bus ride from the tarmac to the terminal. What da?! When you get to passport control and see the long lines, I wonder if I made a dumb choice.

Finally, I got out of the airport and took one of the tiny authorized taxi. The driver started driving and asked for the address of the Marriott hotel. I told him to pull over so that we could look at the address of the hotel. It’s a cheap ride for 25,000 COP (less than 7 euros). Unlike Frankfurt, Lisbon and Warsaw, Bogota has a Marriott plus a more fancy JW Marriott Hotel.

Oh no, there was no bellman greeting me. Instead, security directed me to walk towards a nice and friendly Golden Retriever. The guy holding a metal detector signaled me to go through the entrance to the hotel. Oh no, not again – I checked into the Warsaw Marriott in the summer time when Joe Biden visited Warsaw for a day……

Thank you, neither MF Trump or Mike Pence was here. It was a nice and warm reception at the front desk. I was very happy at my room. It would be a crime not to conduct inspections in it. But I must eat.

The little lobster next to the sign of the restaurant in the lobby sealed the deal. But they only offered a 4 course meal for the evening. After the soup with lobster meat and crab cake, ‘Kenny G’ arrived and started playing music. When he played the Argentina Tango, the lead waiter and the lead waitress decided to dance. It was great. I was busy doing my research and sent out a message to Maria Paula for the evening or the next days. No reply though. My banker would say yesssss!

It’s a bit late after the meal. The pool was closed already. I decided to relax a bit in the tub to get ready for Christmas Day!

To be continued….

Regards,
Fred

Hi Fred

always good to kick off your stay with a great dinner! That lady by the violinist looks tasty as well :D

Such a shame Maria Paula didn't reply. Nice pictures on her website. But I am sure you managed to find a girl and put that amazing room to good use, eventually...

Regards,

D.

Hello Davide,

Maria Paula may be on vacation. For the rates she charge, there are plenty of alternatives.

Fred

Hola Mr. 420,

Your language skills would mean you will do a lot better as to inspections.

But I think you may have a fist fight with that fucking taxi driver I had yesterday. I was only 15 minutes walking but my friend would rather taking a taxi. He was given the street address of the Marriott Hotel. Then he fucked around and made a couple circles by the Holiday Inn (2 blocks from the Marriott hotel) and headed the wrong direction.
It should be Holiday Inn, Sheraton and then Marriott. I told my friend the fucker is taking us for a ride and she said he would turn around. Wait.. I recognized that we were heading towards the airport. Then the fucker recognized my tone of voice and still played dumb. When we got to the hotel, I waved at the door girl....

Actually, you call for pick ups here and you can get on the back of a motorcycle or a little yellow and dirty taxi. If you ride Uber, you have to sit upfront. They don't have the agreement with the government to operate here.

There are white and nice taxis outside the Marriott hotel. You can charge the ride to your room. The driver can wait for you while you do your things. Here's a cost comparison -

White taxi from Marriott to Mini Plaza - room charge for 16,000 COP
Yellow taxi from Mini Plaza to Marriott with a yellow tab - 13,800 COP and the driver added the tip for 2,200 COP (he was nice and friendly though).

I would like to take a look around the RLD in Santa Fe but I have concerns for my safety there. Better not. I read that the cab driver off the streets can take you to some remote places and robbed you. I asked a university student (my beautiful escorts for Saturday evening) and she confirmed that it may happen.

You are right about airfare. I want to see a local girl in Madrid when I am there in 2020. WOW. Flying from Bogota to Madrid on KLM is only 50% of the airfare to fly from Atlanta to Madrid on Delta. They are both strong Skyteam partners.

More later....

Regards,
Fred

Dec 25, 2019 - Christmas Day

I went out to Mini Plaza for lunch. On the way back, I feel the intense urge to do some inspections. I almost told the taxi driver to take me to the RLD in Santa Fe.

Back at the Marriott, I checked if Maria responded to me message. No, she didn't. Then I sent out 3 messages. I got one reply from a robot who would not respond to any follow up questions. But I got a good reply back from Geisha Academy who said they would check if my desirable date was available. Within 5 minutes, they came back with a positive news and we arranged for a date at 6 pm.

https://geisha.academy/bogota/

At 5:59 pm, I was hoping someone would knock on the door. Then at 6 pm, I got a call from front desk that a girl is looking for me. A security guard escorted her to my room, asked me to sign a form and took off. Whoa! She looked even better than the photos and she's a university student... It was a very enjoyable encounter. Later in the evening, I got a message from the agency to see if everything was OK. Then they asked me to rate the girl. If she dropped below 7, she would have to find a new agent. I gave her a 9.5 rating.

A few days later, I picked another girl as my first date from Geisha Academy was already booked. She's a university student as well. Super nice girl.

They accepts USD and COP and you can pay by credit card via paypal. They are by far the best agency that I have used.

Regards,
Fred

Taxes in Colombia
Colombian Law allows 19% tax exemption if:-Tourist passport stamp needed PT, TP-7, TP11, TP12-Purchase a Tourist Package-Foreigner or non-Colombian resident with less than 183 days of permanency in Colombia.-It doesn't apply for foreigners residing in countries considered tax haven.

To get the tax exemption, you just need to show the tourist passport stamp to the hotel staff. They will make a photocopy and ask you to fill out some basic info (name, address, nationality, passport number) on a sheet of paper. Then they will do the paper work. Of course, you would do that a day or two before check out.

ATMs around the hotels are rip off - they have high transaction fees with low withdraw limits. If you need Colombian pesos, you may use the ATMs at the airport or in the malls.

Restaurants may add 10% service charge to the bill. You can feel free to tip more if you like.

The weather here is great right now - cool at night, sunny and warm during the day. It's very similar to the weather in Portugal in August.

Thus, I left on New Year's Day and I am back already. :)

Regards from Bogota,
Fred

Hi Fred

back already?? Bit of an impromptu trip, I guess? At any rate, well done!

"A security guard escorted her to my room, asked me to sign a form and took off."

This may very well be the first time I read about a girl literally being delivered to one's door. Always raising the bar, aren't you?? :D

Hello Davide,

Yes, I must seize the opportunity to return for Operation Valentine. Ha Ha…

That's the procedure here. The agent does not give out my phone number to the girls. They cannot come to the room (like in Lisbon) without the room key for the elevator. Thus they must talk to front desk and show them the ID. Then they call the hotel guest if they can escort the visitor to the room.

The exchange rate is even better this week. :)

Regards,
Fred

Love South American women and shemales. Never been to South America though. Germany only for me. Maybe Den Haag again one day too.
