Yeah, I hear you. Thing is, it's a bit of a manual effort (I don't have a good system for updating them) and also, they seem to generate about the same number of clicks whether they're new or not. I regret having them on the site at all actually but I do need to generate a little bit of revenue to pay the server fees (which are small, thankfully!) A niche site like this simply does not and probably never will get enough traffic to make any real money on advertising so, in the end, I can't spend my time on it. A few static images that generate one or two subscriptions a month and don't require any maintenance on my part are the answer, for now at least.
