Less Than 3 months to go? Any possibility this isn't going to happen?

See my post in the More Weed Pass News thread below. Supplementary to that it seems that the mayors of all 10 northern towns oppose the wietpas, and the latest article in Dutch News affirms the Pvda stance of opposing it if they are in the incoming government once its formed.

High All
I to saw the 10 year operation to stop street dealing!
When in 1997 the coffeeshops were finally licensed a mate said that is the beginning of the end!!
i was confused but looking back he was right license them then you can control and close em down.
As dozens were almost immediately after the license was issued.
And as the street dealer problem is controlled they think they will "quickly deal with any street dealers of weed".
According to a dutch politician whose name i cant recall just now.
hoping for the best

Some of the latest English Language articles on the Wietpas give cause for optimism.

This one about the mess the Wietpas created in Maastricht surely sends the message that the Wietpas is unworkable and shouldn't be implemented any further.

This one is about how Haarlem intends to introduce a hallmarking system rather than the Wietpas and since the Hallmark has local CDA and VVD support as well, Haarlem is confident the government will allow them to do this.

Finally one suggesting the VVD are having a rethink and may scrap the Wietpas.
