Ok so Im after some advice/info
Im planning on visiting vegas for a few days sometime this year.
From what Ive read weed is legal there so wondered if it was possible for tourists to buy it while on holiday?
I stumbled across a post somewhere that warned tourists from buying as you had to present your passport to prove you were over 25 (Hell....no one would need a passport to confirm my age.....just take a look at my face lol) which could end up on a database somewhere preventing re-entry to the US ever again???!!!!??? Hoping that's just a myth/scare story but thought I'd ask the expert here!

Don't worry about it.

I've had multiple visits to Vegas dispensiaries, my passport was checked every time (basically a security guy glancing at it) with no further issues leaving the country or re entering the US at a later date.
Enjoy your smoke. They have some very high quality stuff over there with a variety way beyond anything offered in Amsterdam coffeeshops. Just remember the casinos don't allow public cannabis use, so if your plan is to smoke within the hotel grounds either be very discreet or even better go for a odorless vape pen, my personal preference.

BTW, my favorie dispensary is Reef on 3400 Western Ave., just behind the Fashion Show Mall, very convenient if you're staying around the Wynn, Venetian or Mirage. Also nearby you have Planet 13, which is marketed as the "World's Largest Cannabis Dispensary". Its actually quite good, but can become quite busy and crowded, especially on the weekends as hordes of tourists flock in. Still worth a visit.
