Last Saturday, an old friend of mine and I took the train from Amsterdam around 18:00 by way of a planned two hour layover in Haarlem to be in Alkmaar around 21:00. Leaving the Alkmaar station, I found the darkness a bit foreboding - the effect probably enhanced by the contrast of just having been spent three nights in Amsterdam.

It took us about another 20 minutes to walk from the station to the RLD. It felt surreal passing though the residential neighborhood at night - being able to see directly inside Dutch family dwellings as many Dutch hang no curtains – watching good mannered citizens going about their normal Saturday evenings whilst we outside walked briskly on our way to take pleasure of women in an amoral fashion ...

Along the way we asked for directions. In hindsight, the inquiry hadn't been necessary; the path is almost straight from the station. Just before taking a right onto Achterdam - the street of the main RLD, we stopped at a bar; I to have a beer and my friend to have half a glass of coke before a smoke along a dark surrounding canal.

The RLD in Alkmaar is a totally different can of fish than Amsterdam. In Amsterdam, 1000s of tourists walk around the RLD, going in and out of restaurants, bars, sex shows, and of course walking past the windows. Periodically some guy steps in or out of one...

In Alkmaar, the streets of the RLD just border the quiet old part of the town. The streets are dimly lit; the red lights of the windows predominate. Often in groups, but sometimes alone, the about 100 men walking around are really fishing for meat ... the atmosphere is extremely raw and primitive - a positive judgment, it fostered my pleasure of being there. The women were in quite a good cheer, smiling and friendly teasing the males passing by ... - an interaction on a scale not possible in De Wallen ...

I had a lovely time with Aliena, my friend with another. I'll be walking the streets of Achterdam someday again, for sure.

If you like younger ees then this place is for you. I agree it's nice to be in an rld with minimal tourists. I like older women so it isn't really the ideal rld for my tastes. There are some though. And the town itself is very nice. I counted 35 girls working yesterday. Some of the windows have been closed too. It's not how it was many years ago but at least it still offers a haven for those who love younger ees.

Services and extras are whatever you negotiate of course but in general the base price of €35 gets you the typical suck (with a condom) and fuck. I only once encountered a girl who did not offer this at the base price... one time in many years of visits. Alkmaar is pretty consistent. Extras are easier to come by (pun intended) than in Amsterdam but it really depends on the girl, as does the pricing for said extras. Don't overpay. For adding a BBBJ to the usual 15-20 minute session, for instance, I've paid between an extra €5 and €15, bringing the total cost to €40 - €50, which seems fair to me. And if I'm paying €50 in this case, I probably expect DATY to be allowed as well and maybe even for her to be a little bit more relaxed on the time. That's my experience, anyway. Others on this site have more experience.


Unfortunately it's closed until at least September 1st on account of the Chinese virus, same as all the other red light windows in the country.

I agree with Bluto and can highly recommend Alkmaar.

The girls provide better service on average, please ensure you negotiate and state clearly what you want and for how much before you begin.

You are also more likely to get extra services here than in other places like Amsterdam.

Ensure you have good personal hygiene, shave, look well groomed and wear good, nice fitting clothes and girls tend to have a better attitude towards you.

I have had many sessions there over my mongering life.

So, curiosity got the better of me and I went to Alkmaar on Wednesday (July 1st) to check out the Achterdam. Few girls working, at most half the normal amount. Too many guys wandering around, at least half were of the non-paying Moroccan/Turkish filth variety wearing sweats and/or track suits. Passageways were marked one-way with arrows, which were roundly ignored by everyone except me it seemed. I wanted to find out about any safety-related restrictions, so I found one of my regulars and asked her, is anything different now? So she informed me that the price for basic service has been increased from €35 to €50. I approached one other random girl just to be sure. End of an era. Since I did not actually receive a 43% raise this year, I consider this increase excessive to say the least. So I simply accepted defeat and walked back to the train station.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. At this point I'm finished with Alkmaar and don't recommend it to anyone. If I have to pay €50 to begin with I think I'll go check out Den Haag, which has hotter girls than Alkmaar last time I checked.

Getting ripped off by a crook still costs €50 minimum here, I believe (I haven't had the pleasure in many years.) Of course you can opt to pay more but I don't know why anyone would. I remember sometimes paying a little less on the Molensteeg but that was 10+ years ago so probably not really relevant now.
