I believe it opens at 11am but is very quiet before noon. You should have a selection by 2pm, would be better if you could go later

Hello all

I didn't get the chance to visit on my last trip to Dam.

Is aalkmar rld still in operation?

I read somewhere that it was closing down?

There are fewer windows than there use to be, but those that remain are fully functional.
It can be a little quiet during the day, early afternoon.
More than 60% of windows occupied by 13:00.
I haven’t heard of any further closures.
Still well worth a visit.
I’ll be back there in two weeks.

A while ago, I was reminiscing to myself about an earlier trip I had made a few years past; and so I began stepping though Achterdam in Google Maps. Suddenly my screen went dark, the windows became red, and I was virtually walking though Achterdam, Alkmaar's red-light district, late at night on my phone thousands of miles away...

What an amazing piece of work by Peter Magnée - 360Multimedia - VRmakers.

I can't even begin to imagine how he managed to get all the girls to leave their rooms for the VR photography.

Eric, this is fantastic, thank you for sharing. Props indeed to the fellow who uploaded it. I suspect it was taken after the night shift ended? But then, why would all the windows etc. still be open. It's almost like all the people in the RLD disappeared...

Cheers!

This was probably done when the cleaning crew goes through at the end of the night.
I can't see any other reason that all the lights would be on with the doors open.
Quality shots. Makes me a little homesick!

Alkmaar should definitely be visited, whilst it is no longer at the peak period (with many closures), there are still many stunning EE girls who provide good service. I am a big fan of the Alkmaar RLD.
