Caught this on the Dutch TV news. Dutch transcript below, my translation is Mayor Cohen closes coffeeshop after cocaine discovery. The item showed the coffeeshop closed (boarded up) with a chap reading a notice, it mentioned 2,72 gramm of cocaine

..............................................................................
Cohen sluit coffeeshop na cocaïnevondst

Coffeeschop D&L aan de Govert Flinckstraat in De Pijp is dinsdag op last van burgemeester Cohen gesloten.

Looks like D & L could've been a bit more DL, eh?

If the shop was responsible for having coke on premises then they deserve to be closed. Having coke onhand in a CS takes the whole 'distinction of markets' concept and flushes it down the toilet. And that's a big deal because the market distinction is one of the strongest points in the case of justifying the existence of coffeeshops in NL. So I'm in full agreement with this one. I have to say too that I'm pretty miffed at this particular coffeeshop for pulling this shit and letting another irreplaceable CS license go up in smoke. Thanks a lot assholes.

How do we know for sure that the cocaine wasn't planted there by Amsterdam Police themselves ? Or even Mayor Cohen ?

The coke probably fell out of his pocket when he was trying to score some smoke.

I wonder why they let all those black drug dealers sell cocaine around the De Wallen district. Shouldn't they arrest them, instead of closing the regular coffee shops ?

Because there's nothing illegal about selling washing powder on the streets ;-)

Actually Amsterman...

Years ago, a local piece of shit in my area ( now dead , thank god ).. was approached outside a local bar by the police.

He dropped a packet of powder..after being arrested, and upon analysis, it was mannitol ( baby laxative )

He said " you can't arrest me for it, because it wasn't drugs "

He was convicted for attempting to sell drugs nonetheless..

Actually, when I was in Buenos Aires, I saw the "Argentinean version " of this guy hawking cocaine to all my American friends...

I told the guys the name of this American guy, and the story regarding it...

After that we all greeted him saying " Hi Jack..how's it going "

He was bewildered, as to his new nicknmame...

Priceless....

Best Regards

Smuler
