No one knows, everything is completely up in the air at the moment. Bottom line: any flight you book right now has a very good chance of being cancelled, or you run the risk of your flight and hotel not being cancelled but the city is still locked down (or gets locked down again) and nothing is open and you’re on the hook for the cost. If you can handle that, go ahead. If not, you’ll just have to bite the bullet and wait until we have a clearer picture of what’s going on.

Some are open, but many are closed on the 25th & 26th.

Many places are open on the 26th December - far fewer are shut than open. England has a fair percentage open on 26th December but Amsterdam has even more. In fact, even on Christmas Day a few places were open whereas in England almost everything is shut! I was there last Christmas so speak from recent experience.

As others have said, nobody knows and we won't be able to make judgements about the RLD and how good it is to visit until the thing actually reopens which is not currently forecast until September.

Personally, if i was a betting man, Id be amazed if events turned such that it still hadn't reopened by December or that it reopens and shuts again. I don't think it will be full capacity in terms of girls until next year even though many of them will be itching to start earning money.

I would have no qualms about planning a trip to Amsterdam or Asia in December but the bottom line is we will only have a better picture for Amsterdam after September at the earliest.

We'll know more on June 15 if the borders re-open. Rumor so far is that while EU is probably going to drop the restriction, individual countries might not. See what the next two weeks bring.

The June 15 border decision is not critical for those wanting to visit the RLD as that is not forecast to reopen until September anyway. What is more the issue is whether there is a second spike of the virus in both the Netherlands and other countries, in which case restrictions on entry may be imposed again and the RLD may not reopen in September.

If borders don’t reopen on June 15, they will open in July or August if the data reports that infections are under control. So what is more the issue is how things are looking in August, and if the RLD does reopen how many girls are working and what the general atmosphere is like.
