I used to visit this wonderful place called Amsterdam every year. When do you all think Americans will be able to travel there again?

Not May, when I have tickets and a houseboat reservation.
That trip goes in the waste basket, just like August and October 2020.
I'm guessing October 2021.
By the time I get back, I'll be so damn old that I'm going to have to buy an extra ticket for my walker and my powered wheelchair.

I’ve accepted likely not this year, personally. Especially given how badly my government’s been fucking up the vaccine rollout. I’m hoping next spring. Hopefully my health issues are resolved (or at least significantly better) by then. I miss the hell out of Amsterdam. At least I have some great ladies here to tide me over. Still, it just isn’t the same.

We have reservations for August ...might not work . Our friends from the Pride party seem to think things could be open by then for travel . Of course things seem to be going backwards.

Im not expecting anything now 2021,extension to lockdown when the 3rd wave comes.

I hope we can do holidays in the uk by end of june.

If you have to pay for covid test for travel after vaccine i wont be doing any little 3 day trips again

No politics but this covid seems to be affecting areas differently . We opened everything up in Texas a while back and numbers continue to go down. Of course if you walk past a vaccine station you are Jabbed. We have a few small vacations planned this year and hoping we can make it to Amsterdam in August
The Fantasy Fest in Key West is all go . Florida has said they aren’t going back . We went to the small FF last October it was a smaller crowd around 10,000 people . This year if everything on Facebook is true will be epic.
I think things are going to get better , I understand the cruise lines are opening in a month. But Europe has a different set of problems.

Politics aside as well, I also reside in Texas. The main thing is the states that are completely open without mask mandates are fine. The “Left” said we will all drop dead and kill our relatives, we haven’t. The right still thinks this whole thing is a scam. I rather watch what both sides do rather than hear what they have to say. The states that are locking everyone up like children are shooting themselves in the foot. Even after we get the vaccine, they still claim other variants are popping up. News flash viruses never go away, they mutate. I will say that if I have to get a vaccine so I can travel, I will go ahead and get one. But if they are still making people quarantine, wear masks, and pay to get tests after getting vaccinated I will not be visiting Amsterdam.

Yes , friends of ours from Ireland just said today that they are getting hit with another wave . We have friends from Amsterdam that come to Fantasy Fest every year and they don’t think they will be able to come this year.

No travel for me this year

I think windows will be open in july. if comparing to the 1st and 2nd wave this 3rd wave will be over in the end of this month. however Im aware it can go in every direction.

I've read that UK reached 50% (vaccinated + those who already have had covid earlier) in th ebeginning of this week. I guess all risk groups are covered right now over there. Hopefully we'll see same think within EU within a month. who knows.

With all the new information coming out everyday and the easier it is to receive a vaccine. I am thinking I will attempt a trip to Amsterdam in August. Hopefully the Netherlands won’t still be on a lockdown and the whole vaccine passport will have already been initiated between USA-Europe.
