last time I was in the dam I stayed at an apartment from the Kras and it was very good, thank you to everyone who reccomended it to me

now I have a NEW question

hows about Leidsplein or the Jordan area?
where are some good places to stay around there...
and what about Apartments or Houseboats...

I am going for the cup in November so I understand if things are already tight
let me know what you guys have done

Rookies did me well last time I stayed in the Leidseplein, but it's back to the Kras next time. No competition.

If you're here for the cup try to stay somewhere a little more central like the kras or something around dam square. Unless the cup stuff is at Melkweg again, in which case all bets are off. The density of coffeeshops in the center is far higher. Leidseplein has a few and they're far apart - dolphin, rokerij, noon, etc. If you're at the kras, you're surrounded and in the middle.

That said, I saw a room in Dikker & Thijs on leidsestraat and it was not bad. I was told that it was an upgraded room.

thanks I know all about the cup and I was thinking that this would be a more pleasing alternative to the busy city center

however...
ultimately I really would like to have a place I can sit and people watch from not too far away
even when I am at the hotel I still feel like I want to be out in the city... the peoplewatching from a nice window or balcony is ideal for this

last time I had a kras apartment with a decent view but it was 3 floors up... a little TOO high up
and the windows were small at best

still if thats the best I can do then thats the best I can do but I am curious about other ideas
houseboats or other apartments or hotels are all welcome

thanks
J
