when is on and off peak in the dam

hi guys, i really want to go to the dam when its quiet, obviously july and aug are on peak but what about first week of october, also i want to avboid any festivals or events that might make an off peak time more crowded, when would u say is the slowest times of year and compared to all the aboove how would u rate first week of oct for crowdedness and the girls, do they all go on holiday in oct e.g

Obvious;y the cooler months are quieter, but I find that even in summer, if you avoid the weekend, it's bearable. Sunday to Thursday is much quieter than Friday/Saturday.

I believe the Amsterdam Fringe, which I will probably miss, is 2nd - 9th September.
