Hi everyone,

as long-term members are probably aware, it has been a long while since I've been active on the board, but with good reason I assure you. newer members may know my archived posts on coffeeshops and cannabis, and advice on working in Holland and Europe.

I've been "away" because I've been fully focused on achieving a dream of mine which has now come to fruition.

in July, after a little more than 5 years of toil and waiting, I finally got my British citizenship (now dual US/UK) and just this week I received my UK passport. that means I am now an entirely free agent.

so the logical conclusion? why, move to Amsterdam of course! I'm busily packing up my flat in London and will be back in the Netherlands in just over two weeks to time to find a new job and start a new chapter in my life.

I look forward to bringing you many more detailed first-hand reports and making up for the time that I was "gone" ;)

Well done! I've missed your weed reviews, literary criticism and all manner of enlightened contributions to this somewhat motley scene. We'll be in town 7-15 October and would enjoy saying thanks in person.

most esteemed Paniked, meine sehr guter "Pope of the Pipe,"

So good to see you resurface. As a joint US/EU passport holder myself, I can certainly relate how you approached this "moment of the citizenship" with almost religious or monastic devotion. Congratulations. And thank God you have the wisdom and wherewithall to go back to where you belong: with walking distance of a good coffeeshop!

I must say I did wonder from time to time what befell one of the most poetic and accurate of the "Smoke Reporters" on this board. You did kind of disappear like a whif of smoke or like the sometimes elusive Hawaian Snow.

Best of luck on your new Journey!

Do keep us appraised of developments and adventures...any plans to take small trips to neighbouring countries? Living in Amsterdam gives you some interesting short overland travel options...

Hey Paniked, buddy! Looks like we both dropped off for a bit, eh?

Unlike you, of course, I'm nowhere near Amsterdam, with no plan in sight at the moment. I'm really glad you've managed to get yourself permanently situated there. I think that would be the ultimate experience. I'm working on figuring out a way to get my company to send me there on an extended assignment.

Meanwhile, I'll smoke vicariously through you!

Good to see you here!
