Until a few months ago, I had no idea that Nevada was not the only US state with legal prostitution. Smuler, I believe, informed us that indoor prostitution (no street walkers, basically) was legal in the state of Rhode Island. I did not make a trip.
It appears that the option will no longer be available to we Americans (darn, off to Canada!). The state legislature passed a bill outlawing indoor prostitution, removing what they felt was a loophole in their law. It will be delivered to the Governor and likely signed into law next week.

The bill does represent somehwat of a compromise. One version made prostiution a civil crime - like a ticket - with the other criminal. As compromise, a judge can expunge the conviction fron the worker's record after one year. The john, though, has no such option.
