Yes, the bitch was on the Radio talking about the new proposals to make the purchase of sex illegal not the supply of sex for money, based on the "wonderful successes" that have happened in Sweden.
Working Girls came on and gave her a bad time telling her it was their right to sell their bodies, disabled people came on, guys who could not get girlfreinds, but she insisted that the trade needed to be closed down by targeting men (who by purchasing sex perpertate female slavery) so that all these poor women trafficked into the UK will suddenly be freed by their cruel owners and pimps.
Unfortunately the argument seemed to win the day with people actually going for it.
The main problem is that she maintained and propogated this old "80 per cent forced" myth, and certainly seemed to think that most of the women in UK massage parlours were East Europeans (therefore they must be forced into it yes?).
Personally, just because they say they would like something better does not mean its forced, it just means that if they are stopped, then they don'e even have prostitution to fall back on. But some people (like Harridan Harman) are more interested in Dogma than reality and bend statistics how they like it. They did mamaged to bring in ONE Nigerian Girl who claims to have been forced into sex slavery, after being maybe genuine, maybe not. However, bottom line is, she got to stay here after all and get the education she wanted. Amazing, but if she said she came of her own free will and was a prostitute in Nigeria before coming here, I wonder what would have happened to her?
The viewpoint that the airports would be full with men leaving was viewed. However, I thought they already were LOL.
Now the interesting thing about this woman for me are two attacks on her character I heard about recently. One was in the Sun Newspaper, where a columnist noticed an incident where she tried to walk off with a very expensive unbrella in an expensive London Restaurant, that did not belong to her. It was a sober black, whereas her brolly was a tasteless brightly coloured polythene one. She apologised for the perfectly natural mistake, apparently The columnist said "That tells me all I need to know about Mz Harman".
The other one was my disabled mother, who had a run in with her and her security men in my Mum's local church. As she went to a funeral service, Mz Harman's security guards turned up and tried to stop the car dropping my mum off at the door "securing" the car park. The funeral was of one of Mz Harman's Husband's relatives and a freind of my Mum's. Embarrased at my Mum telling the securioty guard where to get off, and watching her hobble painfully to the church door, the security guard relented and let her driver take her all the way across the churchyard. Harman, then got out of her car and had a go at the guard telling him no cars were to come in.
My old mum, then ripped into her and her labour (socialist caring) policies reminding her that this was the church she had worshipped all her life and if she was scared of an old lady like her then she shouldn't be running the country. "If you are scared of explosives love, try serving in the Navy like I did with German planes dropping bombs whilst you are on the dockside". Then apparently she said "AND I know your names not Harman, its .....(local man's name witheld).... is your Husbands name not good enough for you then?".
Can't think less of the woman if I tried.
