Great news!!!!

BELGRADE, Serbia (AP) — Serbian President Boris Tadic says Europe's most wanted war crimes fugitive Ratko Mladic has been arrested.

He said on Tuesday: "On behalf of the Republic of Serbia we announce that Ratko Mladic has been arrested."

Mladic has been on the run since 1995 when he was indicted by the U.N. war crimes tribunal in The Hague, Netherlands, for genocide in the slaughter of some 8,000 Bosnian Muslims in Srebrenica and other crimes committed by his troops during Bosnia's 1992-95 war.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.

Based on prior experience expect this to go on and on and the "accused" to die of old age before justice is done.

It will make interesting counterpoint and answer the whiners who insisted that US troops should have taken on even more risk to ensure that bin Laden was brought back alive for trial.

(Of course there is a difference. Bin Laden was killed as the commander while the war was still active and he was still a threat. Mladic was captured after the war was over and was not a threat. For me the line is bright...war crimes trials are for after a war is over, killing the enemy in the field is expected while the war is still being waged.)
