Showboat Factfile:
Location: Zaandam, 20 minutes drive from central Amsterdam. Located inside a large moored boat in a canal, but once inside, looks like a club.
Cab fare if you use their cab: 35 Euro. Probably cheaper using a normal cab (around 25 Euro).
Opening hours vary. Saturday nights open 8pm to 5am.
Entry: 40 Euros plus a one-off 10 Euro membership fee.
They take a webcam photo upon entry for “membership purposes” (ie for security).
Recommendation – a great place. Nice nightclub-type atmosphere, friendly people (except one guy – see report below)
All ages from early 20s to 50s, but mostly 30s and 40s. Some beautiful women.

Here’s a long report of my experience on Saturday night, obviously from a single guy’s perspective (it was great, but would be much better if you go as a couple)
Saturday night, I headed down to showboat Swingers club. Another wild place. Better than Paradise club (Candy Club doesn’t even compare – it’s really just a brothel).
I called the cab driver who has an arrangement with the club (Hans), so I could get some inside info and pointers on the way. It was supposed to be a discounted fare, but I think at 35 Euro from the Grand Kras Hotel in central Amsterdam, it was probably too much. But it was worth it for the chat on the way. They had told me to expect about 200 people – wow!
