Leeuwarden is nice and compact.
Girls start showing about noon. But get more and more people as the day goes on.
Several EE girls. But Hester (Hofje 04) from Holland is hot!! As is Francesca (Love & Joy 102) from Romania.
Oh, and Irma (Hofje 11) has returned too. Recent review 'Irma was an angel.
perfect body and tender, great sex, the entire package including tongue kiss, lick, 69'

If it were me, I would stay overnight.
Leeuwarden is a mid point. From there you can visit Groningen, which is a college town (party!) and you should visit wondergirl - http://www.wondergirl.nl/ - not full service but excellent BBBJ and massage.
If you skip Groningen, take the bus from Leeuwarden to Alkmaar and then the train back to AMS.
In Leeuwarden, pickings are slim until maybe 1600. Of course, you can always drop by the Holland Casino.
enjoy!

I took two days for these cities.
Left in the morning for Leeuwarden and walked around the city. It used to be a fortified city and is the capital of Friesland. If you are into more than just the RLD then you can spend some time checking out the city. I did not visit any museums the day I was there because I was tight for time.
Plenty of windows that were partially occupied during the day and increased as the afternoon progressed. I left late in the afternoon to visit my mother's birth village. Trust me no need to stop in Zwaagwesteinde. ;-)
When you take the train from Leeuwarden to Groningen make sure you watch which one you take. One of them stops in every little village along the way and the other doesn't.
Also, not sure but watch the train you are on going out of AMS. It may split it Zwolle with 1/2 going to Leeuwarden and 1/2 going to Groningen. ...just double check.
Three things of importance that I visited in Groningen. The RLD, the Groninger Museum ( http://www.groningermuseum.nl/?lan=Engels ), and De Drie Gazusters (Three Sisters) - http://www.driegezusters.nl/
There is enough info on this board about the RLD. The museum is pretty nice if you are into museums, when I was there I got lucky and the visiting exhibit was an artist from Sweden that I had never heard of...but turns out is pretty good.
The Three Sisters is a BLAST. It is a bunch of different bars all in one big bar. What dance? they got it. What rock? they got it. What to sit in a library? They got it. It was nice to have a bunch of college girls flirting with an old man like me (okay- I was 41 at the time).
Ultimately, if you have been to AMS before and want to get out to see some places then both Leeuwarden and Groningen are good choices. But, I think hitting both in one day is a bit much if you want to do anything other than visit the RLD's. There are other choices just as nice that are closer. My recommendation is take two days, relax and spend the night in Groningen. There are hotels near The Three Sisters.

Thanks br1969 for the report.
Did you think that Leeuwarden or Groningen was worth the journey for the RLD alone? What were the prices in the RLD?
Any recommendations for hotels near the Three Sisters?

Billybob69,
Sorry...just saw your post.
Both cities are far enough away that if you are only going for the RLD, then there are RLD's closer to AMS that are just as good or better.
Much of my travel around The Netherlands is to see my parents homeland and visit with family...it's just a bonus that I can enjoy other things while I'm there.
Taking the train up to either Leeuwarden or Groningen in and of itself is not very exciting. If you think that the land around Amsterdam is flat...wait until you get north of the rivers... I'm pretty good at entertaining myself during travels with a book, music or better yet saying hello to the people around you.
Both cities have things to offer like architecture, fortifications, museums and such.
I spent part of a day in Leeuwarden and the pickings were slim at that time of day. There was not a problem finding more than one lady to spend time with. Groningen's RLD is a little different - a long street. Again, when I got there it was not very busy (many of the windows were empty) and by the time I got back to the RLD I was liqoured/smoked up.
The next day was so busy that it nearly impossible to find a window where there wasn't someone working. It was Good Friday and it is a day where 10's of thousand of Germans come to Groningen....so, very busy girls as well.
Have to look back at my initial post's about Groningen, I think her name was Judy....one of the other guys on here recommended her and it was worth it.
When I visited, prices were less than AMS and selection was good.
This last trip of mine I finally went to Alkmaar and I think that Leeuwarden is better.

Inadvertently, i ended up in Leeuwarden. As said earlier be careful which train you get on. I ended up on the one for Groningen. Work for the Railways in England so knew that travelling on the ticket i had could end up in a fine. However, i sneaked on a train (the one that stopped everywhere!) to Groningen with all the local Hollanders. It turned out to be a very pleasant journey but i could feel i stuck out like a sore thumb. The Hollanders can tell when there's an English/Irish man about lol. No seriously, love the country and a fair amount of the people.
As for Leeuwarden RLD i'm gonna check it out asap. However, i can offer some advice on Groningen. Tbh i was very, very impressed. Especially, if you take into account the fact that i went in Dec 08 and there was plenty of girls about even though it was the cold time of year. Got to Groningen about 1700. Pretty easy to find and a beautiful old style city. Think it was a city that the Spanish couldn't control when they tried a long time ago. If they did then this city put up one hell of a fight. Wiki it if you want to know more.
The feel of the city is vibrant and the architecture previous, in a good sense. In fact, beautiful. From the Rail Station head for the exit and go past the modern sculpture(s). Cross the road for the main street. The first of the Groningen RLDs is a couple of streets down. Here you will find EE's (love the abbreviation, lol). About 7ish streets down you'll get the second RLD. Bit more of a mix here. Older ladies from various parts of the World and also the occasional tranny/shemale. I propositioned a Spanish Milf but she wanted 50euro so i left it and found much a perfect fat assed Venuzuaelan back on Singel. Not sure what the average is but i know i'll visit many more times & pay whatever it takes for the right girl.
If anyones into the experience of visiting RLDs like me then Groningen is a must. Quality. Who knows how good it is in the height of Summer, especially coz it's a Student town!!!!
