Can anyone confirm if this is being actually enforced or is it still bantering about in the court system? Gotta think smoke would still be readily available even if such a ban were being enforced.

To my knowledge at this time the answer is no. They tried to install a pilot program of banning tourists from shops in Maastricht. However, the union of coffee shops and others didn't let it happen. So in response Eindhoven stepped up for the deal. But the news seems to shift everyday almost its ridiculous. One day they are talking about banning in one city and the next. Now they are talking about doing it everywhere no matter what. Either way its not a matter of if but how long.

You would expect this to be true, but if you read through some of the threads in the Amsterdam section relating to this banning of coffeeshops/making them into Dutch members only clubs, you'll find that they'll face quite a few issues if they do implement anything like it which bans non-Dutch citizens, as that is discriminating and Coffeeshops won't stand for it. So it should take some time before they try and implement a ban, then there'll be the backlash from coffeeshop owners, etc... taking the government/councils to court....then it all needs to be looked at again....by which point you're probably 3 - 5 years down the road without much having changed.

Suppose we can only wait and see!

Peace
