I'm not sure if this has been reported before but I noticed it on my visit to the Zandpad about two weeks ago. The kamer rental office has put up a sign that says (in Dutch) that the girls need to be 21 in order to work there. Was disappointing to see this... doesn't bode well for the other RLD's in the country.

Old news? I've just never noticed the sign before and can't recall anyone mentioning it here.

well, I'd say it is good for the girls...by 21 years of age, I'd expect most of them to know what they are getting into and make the decision of adopting 'the life' on their own :)

Seems part of a tighter registration, by the council, for the usual (given)reaons and it seems with the expected consequences of driving women to work elsewhere maybe even illegally.
Also, from girls I've spoken to in Amsterdam, not every window brothel owner in Amsterdam allows girls under 21.
Alkmaar I believe is 18.

I'd expect so, cos the last time I was there, I saw at least 2 girls that were under 21 at the time of my trip down there, so presumably you're right.
